Regarding the BNC connector being unusable as it is because of the dent in it, apart from the convenience of attaching an antenna directly to the BNC connector, the frequency range for the front and rear connectors is more than enough for the transceiver.?
Using the rear connector instead of the front connector doesn¡¯t make any difference performance wise.
