COS signal / SQL pin??
Does anyone know the function of the SQL pin on the ACC connector. I need a carrier operated sqelch type signal from the radio to indicate when a carrier has opened the squelch cct. Is this the SQL?

Re: LDG Z-11 vrs. RT-11 Tuner max. RF power
Bob, You are correct in that there is a resistive pad in the amp's input stage that is bypassed when in receive mode. 73, Ken WB6MLC

CT-62 Noise problems
Apologies if this was beaten to death before. I searched the archives and saw no resolution. When I connect my CT-62 to my FT-817 the noise level (FM, squelched) rises to S3-S7. Disconnected there is

Does the FT-817 have A(auto) R(ranging) T(transponder) S(system)
I have an FT-90P with the ARTS system in it. Does the FT-817 have ARTS in the VHF/UHF portion of the radio? Thanks and '&#, Fred W5FAE

Re: LDG Z-11 vrs. RT-11 Tuner max. RF power
I tune without amp, just the FT817 on AM or FM, 5 watts, then shut the Z11 off, then turn the amp on. I monitor the SWR on the FT817 meter. So far, pretty good. Rudy Marcelletti, K8SWD

hi - i completely agree with the suggestion of doing initial tune with amp in standby mode - tuner should easily handle the 50w output of the amp. bob / wk4rc amp in when tuning is

Re: LDG Z-11 vrs. RT-11 Tuner max. RF power
The relay are exactly the same in Z11 and RT11. May be it would have been happened anyway. The RF Problem in the CPU should be the same problem with the rt11, because the board seems to be the same.

does the FT-817 have ARTS on VHF/UHF?
I have a Yaesu FT90R with A(auto) R(ranging) T(transponder) S(system)...ARTS in it. Does the FT-817 have this system in it? I would use the FT-90R in one vehicle and the FT-817 in my other vehicle and

I was testing at 60 watts and THAT is indeed too much, at least before matching has been achieved. I have one or more relays with bad contacts now. Cortland

Re: LDG Z-11 vrs. RT-11 Tuner max. RF power
I had e-mailed LDG about what mods it would take to use the Z-11 with a 100 watt rig, Dwayne's reply was bigger torroids and there would be a problem with RF getting into the CPU. ARRL.org has a copy

You are correct as to placement. It works fine, but TUNE with the amp in STANBY/OFF, using only 2-3 watts from the barefoot FT-817, then, when tuning is COMPLETE, switch on the amp, and
