Re: Recent final board price / availability?
Just a thought here, but there are non Yaesu affiliated ham equipment repair services around. Most likely ham ops themselves. Depending on the resourcefulness and skill of these individuals there

Re: Recent final board price / availability?
Availability of the boards in the U.S. is up for debate:
Yaesu has said you can order them, but they also say they have none in stock and no plans to order any.
There is also a statement from Yaesu

Recent final board price / availability?
Has anyone ordered a final board recently? I picked up an 817 with very low output at a hamfest and wondered if the board is still available and price.
Thanks

Re: 60dbm Neptune Amplifier + or -
I didn't find a manual from the manufacturer, but I did find a source on Github where a guy posted a 'fix' to some SSB issue he was having.? I am not quite sure what the nature of the issue

Re: Digital input sensitivity
Yes, you can set different audio input levels between HF and VHF and modes for USB/LSB, and DIG/PKT.
However, the radio user interface design is 25 years old, and reflects an era where AX.25 pkt on

I haven't found it necessary to change audio levels between HF bands. I
have found it necessary to adjust audio levels between HD/DIGI and VHF/PKT

Re: Digital input sensitivity
What I would like to know is if there is a way to adjust a different audio sensitivity (in digi) for each band, possibly by adjusting that of the microphone.

Re: Digital input sensitivity
I find that using pkt on VHF/UHF has different sound levels than using DIGI
on HF. I haven't found a difference in sound levels among the various HF
bands.

Digital input sensitivity
Hi all, a little help.
Is the digital input sensitivity always the same for all bands?
Or I can have a different input volume for a specific band (VHF, in my case).
Tnx in advance

Re: FT-817 Replacement
There is a fairly good video on YouTube right now showing it at the Tokyo ham fair. They were able to video the front and back of the radio, looks like the video captures the AMU and cooling fan unit.

Re: FT-817 Replacement
My guess is that it will be priced below the Icom IC-705 because there is no WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS on board. It does however have FT-101 sdr architecture on-board. The Xiegu X-6200 is a bit cheaper,

Re: FT-817 Replacement
I purchased my FT-818ND in February 2019 for 2840PLN (polish zloty). I cannot find what was the exact exchange ratio between PLN and USD, but it was about 4-4.5, so we have about $630-710, and

Re: FT-817 Replacement
I hope that it provides a transmitter-inhibit input pin, and band data.? It will be a great radio for my VHF/UHF/SHF Rover station.
Too bad it does not have 222 MHz.? :-(
