AE5X has posted some of the new FTX-1F that are very promising as to the radio's features (YMMV -- just my observations):
- A tuner/linear jack that is used to drive the optional automatic antenna tuner. ?If this is the same as mini din on the 817ND/818 this would provide a voltage encoded band data and a transmit inhibit connections;
- Separate antenna connections for HF/50 MHz and 144/440 MHz antennas;
A GPS connection. ?Now is that for an optional antenna in or a serial GPS NEMA stream out or in? ?No sign of a 10 MHz GPDSO reference;?
- It apparently has full dual receivers with two speakers. This will allow it to be used as a satellite receiver for V/U, U/V;
- Looks like the same form factor as the FTM-500; and,
- Has a mount on the base of the unit (missing from the FTM-500).
