It really doesn't.... It operates in the audio path. I have one in my 817 and it's nowhere near as effective as a proper if filter. It also creates spurious images of strong stations. It's only

The sotabeams is an audio filter. You can do that with box on the headphone cable, or possibly a phone app, Or your laptop, Not the kind of thing at all as an IF filter.

I would sell the filter if ?no longer needed/used. ?Many owners operate CW and that filter makes a big difference. The demand is there if you want to monetize that CW filter.
