Re: Adding DC to RF output
Are you asking about the value to use or about physical solution? Values are easy to find, i.e. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bias_tee Pietro I2OIM

Hi Since the radios are so much alike it should be the same way. I would think. Marty kd8bj

Re: Amateur Portable Operations Group
I would say you can discuss how you use your FT-817 series rig, as well as improving/ repairing? and maintaining it. Unless of course you're discussing how to use to as a door stop which is a purpose

Re: Adding DC to RF output
No, I am looking for a modification internally to add DC to the FT817. A friend of mine did it with the FT857, but I want to do it with the 817. 73, zACK w9sz wrote:

Re: Adding DC to RF output
With a bias tee, as for satellite TV, look for it on google. An example https://www.atmmicrowave.com/coaxial/dc-injector-bias-tee/ Pay attention to the frequency... Pietro I2OIM

Adding DC to RF output
Here's a post that's on topic! Does anyone have any info on adding DC to the RF output(s) of the FT-817? This is to be used to switch remote relays. 73, Zack W9SZ

Re: Amateur Portable Operations Group
*Warning: This may be off-topic.* One does have the option not to read individual messages. Is discussion on how you actually use your 817, as opposed to improving/repairing/maintaining it off topic?

Re: Amateur Portable Operations Group
Reading various responses since the original posts: This group which I thought was for FT-817 series transceivers is going totally off topic. I subscribed to the group to share technical information

My portable operation is mostly on the VHF-UHF-microwave-mmwave bands doing portable hilltopping. I am guessing I am in the minority in any group that deals with portable operations unless it's

Mike, this group is generally pretty affable. As to the usefulness of what is said, that is enormously variable, as with most on-line discussion groups. Over the years, there has been a lot of

There are some more serious reasons not to use Face***k. However, everybody must find it themselves in proper time. Explaining and persuading will do nothing. 73, Jacek SP5OSF W dniu 21.01.2022
