If I remember QST had a simple converter and I think FAR Circuits sells the boards. It was a cover story in 1998 or 1999 I think and there was one for 6 and 2 meters. It unsed the NE602. The 2 meter

You are correct the ATIS (automated terminal info system) provides up to the minute current condition reports. Pop Comm has listed some of the freqs. or go to the library and get the AOPA Pilots Guide

Well, you have just rubbished the advice given by manufacturers like Cushcraft, HyGain and others for erecting their verticals, not to mention vertical wires, end fed wires and others read in books.
