Re: Group Settings

Mike Olbrisch

Yes - sir.? For the past few years some of us knew Yahoo was "changing" and Yahoo Groups would be going away.? Some of us urged group owners to make the move to here (groups.io).? some did, and some didn't.? Back then, there was a FREE option.

A couple of weeks ago it was announced that within several weeks Yahoo Groups would be shut down.? So now it is a major scramble for owners still in Yahoo Groups to make the move.? And Groups.IO is swamped with requests.? I understand that now there is a "FEE" of something around $100 to make the move.

This group made it under the wire.? For the FEE I guess.

From this day forward, you'll be sending E-mail to this group as [email protected].? NOT at yahoo groups anymore.

After move test message

Hi All

Since I was one asking about the move before it completed.

I thought I would post to make sure I have the address correct

in the email server Thunderbird on my PC and to show that I indeed

did make it.

A big thank you to all involved in making this happen for us.

good to see the move... long-time ft817 user (just sold my two old ones), and now using an ft-818 (same rig in many ways, just slightly updated)...

i've been trying to get rid of my boat anchors, and have for the most part... now using some more modern SDRs, but just can't leave the ft-81X form factor...

it is quite remarkable that after nearly 20 years, no manufacturer has come up with a rig to match it...

and still no NOAA WX - LOL! (but that's OK, as maritime HF WX-fax works FB)

I agree that moderating the first new member post is good option to avoid spamming,
however, most groups that I am a member of also scrutinize subscription requests as well.

Note that anyone who is "invited" to join a group doesn't go through this process by default. This is what happens?
during the migration from Yahoo.

I went to .io group, requested to join and was immidiately approved.? I thought maybe it was because I was already member of this group.

Thank you sir.? While the group had something between 12,000 and 15,000 members, I don¡¯t think the majority were active.? So don¡¯t be surprised if only a couple of hundred come in at first, the others may trickle in for years to come.

Good morning all

It looks like the transfer is complete from Yahoo groups.
Please report and discrepancies to me directly.
It would appear that anyone who had already subscribed to this group has been automatically unsubscribed.

With reference to the recent comment about moderation - I will discuss this with the previous group owner.
At the moment a message from a new subscriber requires approval. This includes anyone who has been migrated.
So please bear with me in the first few days as I will have to approve every new message.

Welcome to our new home!

Regards, Mark.?

Re: GPS lock the FT-817 for transverter

Hello Greg,

My xverters are not GPS locked, but I do have the TCXO in my 817. ?My guess is if you lock your PLL on your xverter the 817 will be close enough for what you need to do. ?I would ?think for even JT-65 it would be close enough. ?I just picked up a Kuhne PLL for my 76 GHz xverter, and I plan on using a 10 MHz OCXO on that.

Good luck and 73,
