Re: I thought this was an FT-817 group, not a Kenwood group...

Please fellows let's not let this fine forum deteriorate to such petty
things! I have been a member of other lists that have & a large number
of the members unsubscribe because of it. If you 2 want to keep flaming
each other about the matter at least have the courtesy to the rest of
the group to do it privately. LET'S GET ON WITH THE FT-817!

I found out about this radio through Yaesu...Go figure eh! maybe
looking at what interests me is what is important...not the bunch of
dribble that you have presented. So this is the Yaesu/Kenwood forum
now eh...What else are you going to post that is not related?

How about some illegal linear amplifiers or ten-tec radios or maybe
some more car parts.

Also "IF A NEW YAESU WERE "RELEASED" I would expect to see something
about it here. Not on a KENWOOD site!!! Can you go to a Kenwood
forum and find out info on the FT-817. Probably not because you
would get the same kind of sane dialogue that I am, presenting to you
here. Use your brain guy!!! Obviously you like to be flamed...Flame
on roggo!

Go ahead and do what you want obviously you will and it is sad that
people like you are out there to ruin a great source of information
for the "YAESU FT-817"

Re: I thought this was an FT-817 group, not a Kenwood group...

AND think about what the intitial post was. it wasn't to START a
discussion here about the new radio (like YOU have choosen to do),
but was a message to let folks that WANT to know that it is
available.. so, loose the control buddy.

Re: I thought this was an FT-817 group, not a Kenwood group...

yeah, like i said... why don't you sit back and think before you open
your trap? AND maybe you should ask ALL of the folks that ARE
interested in new radios, like the new kenwood, and have joined the
group about how they found out about the new radio BEFORE kenwood has
put it on the kenwood site. i'm pretty sure those folks appreciate
finding out about it NOW without waiting around (like someone that
has way too much time on his hands). some people.. i really get a
kick out of people that try to control things "watch your
language" "don't do this" "don't do that". you know what they say
about opinions...they are like a-holes, everyone has got one.

My US version also has the feature and I was able to test it out in Ireland last Christmas season in and around Dublin, great feature for radios that travel!

My understanding is that it is available on ALL versions not only those sold in EU.

Yes. Pushing the HOME button while transmitting on FM will put a 1750 tone burst on the audio. Very nice feature for use in Europe.

Yes there sure is.

It is discussed on page 34 of the owner's manual and is activated by depressing the "Home" key.

Re: Dayton News

Which dealers were selling the ATX antennas??? I thought those were
only available thru UK dealers. I've been considering the Maldol
line of
antennas as well.

Mike - N1EVH
n1evh@a...
WIMCO Antennas Ltd. was selling them...ran out on Saturday early and
raised the price. On Friday the Walkabout was $99 US. They were in
booths 9 and 10 in the Arena

Re: TRX Manager 3.0 Now Supports FT-817

Holy Moly is that expensive!!! $70!!!

FTBasic is very reasonable, not as neat, but very reasonable.

Great Idea...

If people do this, Please add a description.. Like:
UK 2M Simplex, or New York 70cm Repeaters, HF PSK31 Channels etc..

May save some time on figuring out what exactly it is..

Bob..
Did you have any more thoughts on the additional notes column
in the memory management grid..(needs to in CSV export file also)
Good for annotations, especially if sharing files.
It is obviously not passed To/From the radio.

I agree. They could be organized geographically, perhaps,
so that if you go to another country, or another part of
your own country, you could look at what others had
programmed for regional HF nets and VHF/UHF repeaters. When
you return, bingo, upload the original memory configuration.

Yep. Mine's on order - expecting shipping in about 4 weeks.

Re: I thought this was an FT-817 group, not a Kenwood group...

Maybe you should watch your language...If we wanted Kenwood radios we
would have bought them, thus if I wanted to know about Kenwood radios
I would join their user group.

I don't have to think about this...If I join a FT-817 users group
then that is what I and I am sure others are primarily interested
in. If you are going to post like this why don't you change the name
and description of the group...If you notice in the upper left hand
side of this page it doesn't say anything about KENWOOD, but YAESU
specifically.

By the way this is a YAESU FT-817 forum! So why don't we keep it
pure instead of attacking people wanting a forum to be pure or do you
have a problem with staying on the subject. "Yaesu FT-817"

I would say to you, "If you don't appreciate knowing, then you don't
have to look, read, comment, etc." I reply! I want to know about the
FT-817 only and subjects related to it, that is why I am in this
group!!!

Enough said!

Hi Mike,

Some US dealers are carrying ATX antennas.

Like PowerPortStore.

Re: Kenwood's new TH-F6A Tribander ht

the big deal with this radio *is* that it is a multi-band radio with
220mHz. there isn't anything else like it. i heard kenwood state in
their live audio link that the radio will be av. late june or early
july, not the fall. so, i guess we'll have to see soon.
