Re: Strane SMA on REAR.
I mounted a small SMA on the rear of my FT817ND. It is used as the output of the IF (68,33 MHz) to watch as a spectrum display on an SDR module. I use the FUNCube dongle, as recommended. See photo. Strane SMA on REAR.
Hi to all!
I have a great FT817ND... bought used, replaced the internal battery and all run well. I replaced the "light" power connector with a coupler that provide two Anderson connector from Windcamp.
I noticed about a small SMA connector on rear... I don't know why it is here... Some friends told me that it can be a wide-spectrum signal from IF (???). Someone know something?
?
Thanks to all,

Re: Collins Mechanical Filter
All of the menu settings were correct. I took the filter out of the radio where everything seems to work OK and put that filter into the ¡°problem¡± radio. It did not work. My assumption is that the radio has an issue so I mailed it back to Yaesu today for an evaluation. I sent them the filter as well. Thanks to all for the advise. Very helpful. 73 to all.? |

I use the Digirig with my 857D which is similar.? You will find that the cables used from the Digirig to the radio are generic Ft-8XX
?I find they have a forum and often cover such questions.

I don't know if this will answer all your questions.? It should give you a good start.

Re: Collins Mechanical Filter
Have you enabled the filter in the 818 settings? It gives a choice between SSB and CW. I do not know the menu number, as I own the FT-817ND, not a FT-818ND. Hope this helps. Robert Watson || WA7SON wa7son@...

Re: Operating CW without Microphone- how to add FST button?
The other trick is to program memories with some spaced frequencies in order for the bands you operate.

Hi, I'd cut a few inches off an ethernet cable, solder a small push button switch onto the wires then add some heat shrink tubing to hold it together. Much better than drilling a hole in the radio IMO. Regards Lou VK3ALB On Mon, Apr 21, 2025 at 5:56?AM Mike Dinolfo via <mdinolfo=[email protected]> wrote: Mike AD9CA: |

Re: Antenna port
Yes can use either front BNC or rear SO239 connectors for any band.? Only issue I understand is there is internal relay that is set for the connector selected meaning the relay is drawing power when energized.? I think it is energized when the rear connector is selected. 73, ron, n9ee
