Re: MP-1 longer base section
If your purchased the MP-1 Tripod you can use the Tripod legs to lengthen
the base section for the MP-1. All hardware is coupled with 3/8 x 24 thread.
In a pinch you can carefully couple the sections

Re: Do NiMH packs come with fuses? Nope!!
It would appear that the Klixon thermal breaker I found in the JVC
9.6V, 1000mAh pack is a custom item of some sort. Neither Mouser or
Digikey carries anything remotely like it. For that matter,

Yaesu and others state NOT to use any other cells than dry cells in
their battery holder, or buy their ni-cd pack, so NO they would not

please read my earlier mail "ABNORMAL BEHAVIOUR OF FT-817

There you have the reason why Yaesu recommend using the ferrite core.
The problem is however, this fix does not always

Re: At least one MP-1 which is not so hot.
I have the PW-1 which comes with the 12" lower mast.
What I have tried is the Hustler 54" mast on the bottom as a
replacement... Yes, it works better.
Better enough to offset the cost of the Hustler
