I tried this with the one I bought (well not a surface mount cap) and
it made no difference at all. The reason was the hash is on both DC
leads. The DC lead was actually coaxial, with negative the outer.
Winding a lot of turns on to a ferrite ring close to the FT-817 plug
made the biggest reduction in hash.
