Mine blew about three days after the anniversary -- grin.
There's been a lot of speculation why the 817 PA's go, and I cling to
mine; those power FET's were new technolgy, and the reliability
wasn't all that it could be. Nowadays, I see, they use a different
part.
Failure analysis is a well-paid engineering specialty, at firms who
need to do it.
