In our 80's, we are downsizing -- dramatically.? Will be moving from 2,500 sq ft house we built 17 years ago to 1,200 sq ft apartment.

Our son lives about 10 miles away from the apartments on 5 acres with big trees -- perfect for one or more dipoles.

Has anyone ever tried -- or is anyone now using -- remote operation?

Seems as though I could put my FT817 or FT857 at his place, get another 817 or 857 for the apartment, and link them remotely over the 'net, and operate CW -- which is all I do anyway.

Anyone tired this, or, doing it now?
?
Would it be as simple as a laptop and a rig at each location?
