Locked Re: FT-818 group invitation

I can see why there might be a need for a separate FT818 vs the FT817 group.? There are differences and there could be issues in one rig and not the other.

But I do find there is little need for multiple groups for same rig.? Best to have all in one group.? Only reason I would go to another same rig group is the moderator issues.? Some moderators tend to sensor things that dont matter.? I dont find this issue here.

I'm a member of a bunch of groups.io groups, and occasionally a member or two will complain about the decisions the moderators/administrators/etc make regarding certain threads, topics, etc and declare their intention to break free of this 'tyranny' (my word) and build their own group. I saw this in the invitation:

"Uncensored, unmoderated group for Yaesu FT-818 radio enthusiasts"

I read that and assume that is the motivation here.

If I may, allow me to share the following XKCD cartoon that expresses my thoughts:

Just swap "email lists" for "standards"
