It has been quite a while since I have had my ft-817 on the air, moving and such
has gotten in the way. I hooked it up last night and see something I can't remember
exactly how to do, and I don't see it covered in the manual however I may have over
looked it.
In using a key paddle plugged in, and the menu for control of the keyer if you untick
the option to turn it on, but the BK ticked you can use it to practice CW with one of the
paddles to key the side tone or rig. I thought you keyed with the dah side, on mine it is
using the dit side, is this correct. Seems to me trying to send cw with your thumb would
be strange. Or is it supposed to key with either paddle side. I thought in the past I had
keyed as straight key using the paddle using my index finger.
