Greetings, all:
Somehow, and I'm not certain how, the display on my FT-817ND has started flashing. It's not a backlight flicker, but the display itself is turning on and off. Also, no audio comes out of the radio whatsoever. The radio has been modded with the SotaBeams DSP filter, but is otherwise stock.
I followed the instructions that G0FTD posted about charging a battery pack (https://sites.google.com/site/g0ftdradio/home/ft817-info), then removing one battery and turning it on and off again. I did it with AA alkaline batteries in the tray (after charging the FNB-85 that the radio came with). No luck; it's still flashing and I can't get it to work. None of the standard reset methods from the manual seem to have any effect.
Any other advice, short of sending it back to Yaesu?
