Festool Clamp Adapter K940

Hi,
Does anyone on here make the adapters that slide into the track of the K940 sliding table so I can mount a festool clamp into the groove?

Thanks!

JP

There’s an adapter for using a Festool clamp on a slider? ?Does anybody have this adapter?

Thx,

Wade

I’m not sure you need an adapter, I think the Festool clamp will fit in the sliders t-slot. Worst case you could 3D print a sleeve to take up any slop.

If you are talking about the green festool thumb clamps they fit but barely. I feel like any clamping pressure would pop them up. I ordered some clamps from Mac, but in the meantime I just used a cnc like Brian mentioned to create a sleeve. You could also just use a router and cut to width.?

Milescraft has a t-slot base that basically just bolts on to a Kreg 3" or 6" bench clamp.? The kit has a 30mm x 35mm t-bolt that fits into the X-Roll sliding table just fine.? I'm using these for the time being until I have the budget for air clamps.

If either of the following Festool clamps are what you’re referring to, then they DO NOT secure into the T-slot in the Felder sliding tables without an adapter.

I’ve modeled up the type of adapter you would need as shown below. ?If this is what you need, I can post a drawing with dimensions and you can make your own out of hardwood, or I can DM you or anyone else a STEP file and they can 3D print the thing.

David,
I’ve used the clamps with a 5 mm X 30 mm X 4 inch piece of hard maple in the slot on ?top of the clamp leg. Your design would add substantial strength and stability. Thanks for the design file.

Posted this solution a couple years back under 3D printing and x-roll. Search for that and the string should show up along with the files in the download section. My design captured the clamps fully ensuring they remain upright and can slide freely without marring the extrusions. These work quite well and remained in the saw even after procuring Macs clamps.?

Made one for the more square miter extrusion also to expand clamping options.

That’s a nice design Mike. ?Maybe Bill Belanger could add this to his Etsy offerings. ?The STL file is here:

Yup, going into the store.
Printed and tested. Works great.

I've used this timber design for many?years.
I made a few lengths out of scrap and modify them as needed.
Last week I added a threaded metal insert to aid fixing jigs to the slider.

Kindest regards

I made these a couple of years ago for my Hammer slider. It's just a piece of Incra T-track with a set screw. Works like a charm and is dirt cheap. These are the Bessey quick clamps, but I have used the Festool ones like this too. If I remember correctly I posted this "fix" here as well quite some time ago.

That's clever and easy to source too.? Thank you for sharing.

Those are looking good Bill! A question out of curiosity, what machine and material do you print such parts? As I can image not every 3D printer will make these parts sturdy enough.?
I don't have a 3D printer, but when I see things like this I do think about it. But this also means learning some software to make the models. What software do you use?

Thanks,

kvdd

KVDD,
I have a Dremel 3D45 printer. I use Fusion 360 for design and Simplify 3D for a slicer. I print with PLA and vary the infill for strength.
