Inset drawer lighting
I could be wrong, but it seems like lighting in drawers is a gimmick... I have never had an issue opening a drawer and finding it to dim to see what I was after... unless I suppose none of the lights in the kitchen were on. Seems like a complex and costly addition that offers not a lot of return. I do use my undercabinet countertop lighting on occasion, but even that is a rare occurence for what I spent to do it. I am finishing up my window build and moving towards planning on the kitchen. One of the questions I have is what is what to do with inset drawer lighting. It seems like everything is geared toward frameless. Thoughts?

In the summer 2024 I completed a project that the client wanted draw lighting, tried to get the Grass Dynopro draw boxes with integrated lights. We were told the Grass had no stock and didn't know when they would be restocking. We ended using the resessed LED defuses with a sensor¡¡ Kindest Regards Jonathan Samways Este mensaje se dirige exclusivamente a su destinatario y puede contener informaci¨®n privilegiada o confidencial. When I was young, I would go out to restaurants with my father, and he would hold up the little lights commonly found on restaurant tables so as to better illuminate the menu.? I never fully understand why he did that.? Now that I'm an old fart, I totally get it.? It seems like standard lighting in residential settings is often dimmer than I'd like.? I've never seen drawers with built-in illumination, but I can see the appeal.? In my kitchen, I use the lighting under the upper cabinets almost every day, and wish it was a bit brighter than it is.? Of course, if the room has lighting bright enough to make me happy, then probably the drawer doesn't need it.
?
These days, I try to do all I can to protect my eyes, and not lose any more sensitivity.? Not to go off on too much of a tangent, but Fronius welders now have a feature with a wireless link to a welding helmet, and it can trigger the shield to dim a split second *before* the arc strikes.? I only barely managed to talk myself out of getting one of their rigs for Christmas.? :-)
