Re: Fritz and Fran jigs

Thanks for the interest in my Fritz and Franz jig.? If you are on Instagram, you can see all of my related posts on the jig by searching for the tag #BedrosianFritzandFranz.? You can DM me on Instagram if you would like to place an order.? If you are not on Instagram, you can contact me at BedrosianWoodworks@....
In addition to selling the completed jig, I also have detailed plans if you would like to build the jig yourself.

Re: I¡¯m on the fence, about choosing a parallel fence.

I think I already have the extension table (430-104) for the Felder parallel fence. If someone wants to sell their fence (because it doesn't fit, or they bought Mr. Lamb's) let me know.

I have seen them in a shop here in Auckland, the owner was closing his shop, the asking price was a bit high but it did cost him some serious $$ to buy, it was sold within a week.?

Re: Fritz and Fran jigs

That¡¯s a really nice setup! In my Case it might soon become a junk collector though. ?

Re: Hammer A3-31 issue

I don¡¯t know if this helps but my fence on the end is about the same gap as yours. I raised the fence rail just a little bit and the back of the fence is about 1/8¡± higher then the table. I have used the planer and jointer a lot with no problems. I thought when I put it together it had a bigger gap then should be. But like I said no issues the wood comes out as square and as flat as I would ask for. ?Sorry if no help.?

It seems the fence is tilted from front to back and should not be that way. I will figure it out on my own. Once I install the extension table, I will see if I can raise the bracket to help the cause, however I am sure the bracket is installed exactly to the specs given to me in the manual.

Re: Fritz and Fran jigs

This was my first F&F attempt. I left out the rail as I wanted flexibility for angled cuts. I also introduced Kipp levers to fasten the clamps down, after applying some forward pressure on the workpiece, to eliminate the need to push the stock towards the x-cut fence. The various holes were intended to allow for different handle positions.?

I think it worked ok but F&F is best suited for straight cuts, IMO.?

With my workspace constraints, I now try my best to keep the large x-cut fence and outrigger stowed, so this previous F&F design limits me somewhat.?

Once I began using pneumatic clamps, F&F became less necessary.?

Re: Fritz and Fran jigs

This is the most basic of all F&F jigs. Cost is almost nothing.

This will help me make a better/fancier version.

If you want a Bedrosian version, you can reach him through Instagram.

New 3/4¡± & 5/8¡± Cove Bits

Well I got weak in the knees and bid on a lot of router bits. Only got duplication of these 2, made in USA PC cove bits. I see comparable bits would be ~$100. Offering for $50 plus shipping. Cat not included ?

I built a pantograph a few years ago om birch ply for a router to carve letters and such.? It was terribly? easy. You could just watch? Mathias' videos and? get all the detail you need.? The dimensions are almost entirely? unimportant because you can work out the amplification or reduction? with trig

I gotta get my hands on a PantoRouter to reverse engineer it :).?

For a small shop with a slider (which I have as well) the crosscut fence + outrigger is the thing that almost always gets in my way. I don't know if the ?is compatible with your make of fence but it has made a big difference is access to valuable floor space for me.?

Welcome to the forum and let us know what you plan to make with this setup!?

Being a nut with calipers as DB puts it, I know the feeling super well when the machine I dreamed about did not turn out to be perfect. For me $7K back in 2001 for a bare bones KF700 was a ton of money and there were some disappointments. Frankly the only one I can recall now was, who the heck builds a rip fence w/o a pointer on the scale.

The machine is still serving me well. So I hope once you get past this and starts enjoying using the machine, this hiccup will become a distant memory ?

PS not sure how much you need to raise but brass shims in thousands of inch thickness are available cheap, in case you only want to go 5 to 10 thou

I had looked into these Unitek sanders available here in Oz.

Apparently they're Italian made.?

The little 650mm wide model weighs 850kg so they sound like they're solidly made.?

Has anyone heard much about the Unitek sanders?

The 650mm Nice is about 20K AUD.?

Cheers
