Re: K700s measurement glass¡
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýBrian¡¯s digital stop is fantastic! ?Very good, and has improved my woodworking. ?Only complaint is that the readout in metric only goes to a meter. ?I have to get the calculator out and figure the inch equivalent for anything over. ?May not be an issue with later versions of his stops...

Re: Hammer cross cut fence coupling set
Here are pics of my Incra modification:
What I did was mill a piece of UHMW so that it press fit into the T-slot on the table.? I then drilled and tapped 4 holes for the bolts on the miter gauge (main pivot, main handle, angle pivot, angle lock).? I believe I had to hand plane the UHMW down a little bit afterwards due to it expanding a little after the bolts were screwed in. To use it I just drop it in that spot and push it up against the bolt in the slot where the Hammer miter gauge registers.? It's tight enough that it doesn't back up on its own, and all my pressure on it is forward anyway.? Then just set the angle I need and go.? I probably could get the Hammer crosscut fence to work with this, but haven't bothered since everything I've cut with this has been short enough to work with the Incra fence. |
K700s measurement glass¡
Hey guys, just wanted to know if anyone has an extra measurement magnifying glass that goes on the flip stop for a K700s? I broke one and need to replace it! Also thinking about getting a DRO flip stop from Brian Lamb? Anyone have one or have used one? I¡¯ve got two DRO parallel bars from Lamb tools and love them, just curious about the DRO flip stop? Thanks¡

Re: Power feeder tilt bracket in resting position
I have the same situation as habacomike with my DC40 feeder: unless the feeder is parallel to the slider, the feeder does not have sufficient leverage to overcome the resistance of the gas strut, so part of the bracket sits proud of the cast iron.?
I have a 3200mm slider, and when the DC40 feeder is in the "stowed" position (parallel to the sliding table) it does not protrude horizontally past the slider in the "locked" position, so I view it as a non-issue.? -- Tom Gensmer Heritage Home Renewals, LLC Minneapolis, MN |
Re: Customer service (or lack thereof)
Jay, Well said.? All the woodworkers I met online and in person, all are nice, great people, patient, helpful and accommodating. I have Felder machines (Felder 700 saw/shaper combo, AD741 and FB510), delivered by tech service guys from Felder Mississauga, no issue.? I have bought many tools from many US and Canadian companies, all GREAT customer service regardless of the purchase amount. When the product was lost during shipping, I called?customer?service and a new one was shipped the next day. If there was a defect, I sent the picture, no question was asked and offered the credit or a replacement. I do not understand how Felder USA could possibly treat their customers so poorly and unprofessionally. My case might be the rare exception I don't know but if I remember right someone else on the forum had a parallelogram PCS Felder could not get working right so they lemon law'd it because Felder refused to correspond back.??If everyone rolls over when Felder customer service sucks they are not going to change their behavior.? I used to think Felder was the problem but after so many lackluster experiences I realize it's us the consumers forever patient, forgiving and accommodating. We keep coming back like dumb cows because they have the machines we want.? Jay Bowen Cleveland |
Re: Hammer cross cut fence coupling set
Yes, I would like to see the modification to use Incra on the slider too cause I am planning to do it this weekend. My plan is to mill a 20.25mm x 20mm hardwood to fit my Felder 700SP saw/shaper sliding table, use the shaper to do a rabbet cut, so I can attach the incra 1000HD miter bar to the hardwood. ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýSteve,?Your Incra 1000SE modification sounds great! Can you send a pic and/or provide an explanation of this mod. I have been thinking of doing something like that but not sure if I can pull it off. I am sure others would like to see it too. Thanks!? Chris? Chris Rozycki? Re: Hammer cross cut fence coupling set
Both of those links are the same, so I presume you mean this one when you refer to the one with the detents:
I have the original non-detent one and use it 99.999% of the time at 90 degrees.? If I need a "close enough" angle then I use the angles marked on the slider.? If I need a dead-on angle then I either use my Lamb Tool Works Square (er, Triangle), or I get out my Incra 1000SE that I have modified to work in the Hammer t-slot. Note that I have two versions of the original: one with the cam-style 90 degree stop (it came with the saw), and the newer updated one as shown in your link.? I bought that newer one a few years after I first got the saw. |
Re: Power feeder tilt bracket in resting position
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI¡¯m laid up with an arm that has had PRP so can¡¯t move the feeder into the off machine position for weeks. ?The issue is that unless the feeder arm is more or less perpendicular to the end of the machine, the weight of the feeder is insufficient to overcome the resistance of the gas shock so the hinge plate is left a bit proud of the plane of the top of the saw.

Re: Hammer cross cut fence coupling set
I own both for my newer B3, so I can provide my $0.02.? I ordered my B3 with the outrigger, so it didn¡¯t come with the coupling set and shorter fence standard. Thinking I might use them more often and the outrigger less often, I added a 900mm fence and the upgraded miter gauge coupler with detents. When it all finally arrived, I was disappointed to discover that it does not include the 90deg flip stop. Felder would not sell me that part alone, so I ended up having to buy the coupler set anyway to get the flip stop. This I now have both. |
Re: Hammer cross cut fence coupling set
Richard, I have the original w/o detents. I use it infrequently but when I do, I check the angle with an electronic bevel gauge. The stop seems to hold 90 fairly well but I check that with my engineer square as well. I'm just not sure if the miter gauge + detents is $100 better than the basic one without. It's also amazing to me that either of these are > $100 so I'm debating just retrofitting a digital miter gauge I have from my previous table saw. |
Re: Customer service (or lack thereof)
Ironically I just received my 3rd slider today and they actually did a bang up job on the packing this time.? I think they have learned that the shipping companies are kind of special now a days.? My initial saw was hammered good by the shipping company sent back to Felder and I got it back about 4 months later with parts ordered.? The second shipment think Ace Ventura as the UPS guy expect with big freight with weak sauce crates.? Today I got what on the outside appears intact.? That being said they have stand up with this, it has just taken about year from initial delivery.? Now I got some extra treated lumber and good screws to upcycle to something and cross my fingers all is good when unwrapped.
