Re: Pending delivery, looking for advice
?When they say "drop ship", that's exactly what they mean.? They'll unload the pallet from their lift gate and leave it for you to figure out.? ?Supposedly, a narrow pallet jack makes transporting the pallets doable, although it still doesn't help with unloading.? I ended up using a piano mover who was able to take my A3-31 from its pallet, carry it into my house, and place it on its mobile base (I used a Bora 3550 which I love.? It moves the machine in any direction with one hand once it's unlocked--as opposed to the Felder mobile base which allows you to move the machine only in one direction.? ?I had a SawStop PCS before learning about Hammer.? ?I've used your slider and DE unit along with the A3? in classes--if I had my SawStop purchase to do over again, I'd opt for the slider.? I think you're going to be very happy. On Sat, Jan 9, 2021 at 7:21 PM Troy Holtby <tholtby@...> wrote: New to the group. Pending delivery, looking for advice
New to the group. I have a delivery of 4 new machines due in 4 weeks (KF700, FB510, RL160, and Hammer A3-41.?
I am just a hobbist and am new to both sliders and Felder but after much research chose to go this route.? With the machines due in the next month, is there any prep advice anyone could give to make sure I'm ready when they arrive? (Electrical is done and verified) |

开云体育cmluck, I assume your dust collector motor is 3 phase since you mention it is controlled by a 3 phase contactor. How is this contactor switched? 110AC or 220AC or some DC voltage? I can at least recommend something that you should run by felder before trying. From PN you have 220-240VAC model. Imran? On Jan 9, 2021, at 4:29 PM, cmluck01@... wrote:

For reference, I'm running a Felder K940 5.5 KW 3 phase slider and Felder AD951 3 phase Jointer/Planer 7.5 KW via a Phase Perfect 20 HP. My Dust collector has a 5HP with Baldor motor with a 3 Phase contactor for on/off. Any input is appreciated. Thanks <IMG_3486.jpg> <IMG_3160.jpg> <IMG_3159.jpg> <IMG_3158.jpg> |

I would add, many times trying to get everything lined up perfectly on a machine is not always necessary(within reason). The best test is if the machine cuts straight, flat, and evenly. If the jointer is doing that, I have learned "If it aint broke don't fix
it".? I learned a lot retro fitting a helical cutterhead on my Hammer jointer/thicknesser, as it meant taking tables of as well as and had to recalibrate everything.
Felder should be able to supply a maintenance file, with relevant tolerances for set up, so you don't spend all day trying to achieve unattainable perfection, when not necessary.

ZIEHL STW1K S225636 Dust Collector Control Module
#dustcollection
Greetings to all,
I recently purchased, from Felder, a ZIEHL STW1K S225636 Dust Collector Control Module along with a few of the ZIEHL STWA1 Coil Transformers to control my dust collector. This module controls up to 8 machines and uses the coil transformers to activate a relay in the STW1K to turn on the dust collector. Hi Richard,? Yes, I'm in the states.? ?I don't have any spindles.? On Sat, Jan 9, 2021, 1:34 PM Benjamin Thompson via <scribbleben=[email protected]> wrote: Paul, what bits would you round up for spare inventory? As this one sits it only has one shaper spindle, so that's something to look for.? |
Re: Just another used Felder thread
Thanks for all the advice everyone!
Imran, the machine does still have all of it's fences for the saw and shaper. It also has the jointer-guard (euro stye). Comes with a share spindle and a single cutter head. It's a simple, straight blade with no profiles, probably for edging and rabbeting. Paul, the casters need to be replaced for locker that can handle the weight. The ones on there now are ellipses from sitting in one place. $1700-ish was going to be my offer, so it sounds like I'm in the ball park. I'll keep you posted. If I get it, look out. I'll have tons of noob questions :-) ben |
AD-41 J/P, Sotps dead in the middle of a planner operation
It does not do it all the time but enough to really aggrivate. I am taking a typical light cut (.02" to .025"), planner table is clean ?and waxed, the feed is set to ?slow
and it will begin to sound labored and stop dead. Lower the table and start over with the same setting and all is well. My machine is a variable speed version. |

In answer to my own question, yes! there are 2 pairs of bolts underneath. If you slacken off the cross bolts that go through the round pins, the bolts underneath become loose too. You can then wind them in or out and then tighten up the cross bolts.
So I now have coplanar tables - within about 0.2mm. I found that my planer blades are not quite set right either, but that's all detailed in the manual. My garage/workshop reached a max of 4 degrees C today, so the blades can wait until tomorrow! |

Had another look today, I can slacken off the bolts (13) but I don't see what will actually move the hinge?
Bolt 31 is the lock bolt for the slide to lock the table height. There are 3? bolts going into the lower slide from underneath. Do these pull against the round pins? So if I slacken off the cross bolt going through the round pins (6 and 13) I can pull the hinge down by tightening the bolts underneath? |

开云体育Yes Finicky at best 31 locks the adjustment I think, If I remember table also has some movement in relation to cutter ?head helps to fit closer.
