Re: Veneering hollow core doors
I haven't done any hollow core doors, but have done other honeycomb core
panels, and shop made torsion boxes. My inclination would be to press face
down, with a 3/4" MDF caul on top of the door. You

Excellent idea Alex, if it is not too much trouble for Brian. I would contribute.

Re: AD741 Height Adjustment Broken
I doubt there is anything you did that caused the problem. Most likely a defect in the material or like I said, to sharp of a radius in the corner. The shaft most likely was designed to go thru the

Re: SCM Spindle Moulder T130 query
Hi Graeme,
Congrats on the new machine!! I have a 2024 TF-130 and I just love it.
Hmm, looking at your photos, I'm skeptical that you have an interchangeable spindle, I think your machine may have

Re: SCM Spindle Moulder T130 query
If you don't want a 1.25" spindle, and don't think you will ever want a
1.25" spindle. I would just have the spindle you have turned down to 30mm
by a machine shop.

Re: SCM Spindle Moulder T130 query
You could have a machine shop make a spindle for you, and it may be less expensive than a brand name one, depending on how complicated the spindle is.? They are usually made to H7,g6 tolerance class

Re: AD741 Height Adjustment Broken
Hi Brian,
Is there something I should or shouldn't be doing when I use the machine in
order to avoid this from happening in the future? Understand the stress
that caused the failure, but not sure

Re: AD741 Height Adjustment Broken
The shaft broke from stress risers in the sharp corner between the smaller section and the larger section. Pretty common thing to have happen... so you just got lucky! :-) It's nice that they designed

Imran,
Great! Thank you. I just gave it a try and it worked - obviously without
actually making any real adjustments yet since I am still waiting for the
parts. But the actual reset to 20mm works. I

Re: SCM Spindle Moulder T130 query
The spindle won't be cheap. To get up and running, you might buy a couple of 1"-30MM bushings for the 1" spindle. You don't need many and if you keep the cutter low on the spindle, you will be fine

Re: SCM Spindle Moulder T130 query
I don’t know if this will help but I bought a 30 mm spindle from SCM 2002. I would just contact Parts at SCM.
You’ll also need a tube to handle to change the spindle

Re: AD741 Height Adjustment Broken
