Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
Thanks David, beautiful work. My short crosscut fence is always going on and off my k700 and i¡¯m tired of having to fine tune it for square each time. I also notice that the fence gets pulled

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
My understanding is that the profile of the Felder slider is different from that on my Hammer machine. Is there something different on the Felder machines that poses a challenge with repeatedly

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
Some of the comments about the short fence have tweaked my curiosity. Back when I ordered my Hammer B3, I added a 1300mm cross-cut fence, along with the 90 degree stop (I chose the model developed by

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
I bought the short cross cut fence with my saw because it seemed more in line with the way I used a cabinet saw. Once I found out how hard it is to get it square and keep it square I set it aside.

DROs are inexpensive to install. You can search here or post a question on my FB group (link below) to see details. Both locations are searchable but sometimes it takes a bit of effort and few

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
Thanks, that's a great document.? I pretty much exclusively do one-off production.? For my work, absolute dimensional accuracy is almost never needed, but repeatability and squareness is very

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
Thanks, that's very helpful!? I hadn't realized the short crosscut fence couldn't be slid back and forth on the table.? Add in that it may be a struggle to keep it at 90 degrees, and I may forego

Re: Problem with greasing the spindles on F700 #shaper
I've probably killed the hardening, but it should last me a lifetime anyway. Now the bearings are lubricated and the tiny little noise I could hear from them is gone now. And those of you who thought

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
I am like John. Using the parallel fence and the outrigger to cut long boards. For short pieces I am using David bedrosian F&F. another thing worth to mention is that the parallel fence is mounted on

Re: Problem with greasing the spindles on F700 #shaper
Interesting. My nozzle is noticeably bulkier. Since Felder hardly manufactures the grease guns themselves, maybe someone in China simply sent mine the wrong nozzle. In that case, it also explains why

Thought I measure the tube as well in case yours has bigger OD therefore bigger tip. The OD of my tube is 8mm. Imran Malik https://www.facebook.com/groups/362481112015700/?ref=share

Our spindles are different but I would guess that the slot opening is same ~14 mm. I measured both with calipers before responding to you but here is the pic of the offending part. Imran Malik

Re: Problem with greasing the spindles on F700 #shaper
Imran, thanx for the picture. ?We have different spindles. I realize now as I take pictures and measure, that the solution may not be so far away after all. Two things are visible in my pictures. One

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
I use one of Brian¡¯s parallel guides in conjunction with the flip stop, and it works well for longer pieces. For shorter pieces I use a Fritz and Frans jig. I¡¯ve been concerned about using the

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
Well, I make and sell the parallel fences, so take that for what it is worth. As Imran mentioned, the Felder short fence is not able to be moved up and down the slider, which limits how well. that

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
David thanks for posting that, not seen it before....every time I use the Felder parel fence I'm thinking why did the design it like this, it's horrible, and one day I will make something without that
