Re: Electrical question
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý208 is common along with 220? Basically the lower the volts the higher the amp draw and of course larger wires with lower volts. ? You can put buck and boost to jack currents up i.e. 208 to 220.? If you put in panels I would go with SqD QOND boxes. They give you a lot ?more work space in the box. I run all 1" conduit and no 10 wire ?except where larger is needed.? This way you can ether buy or salvage one size.? I just inventory straight pipe connectors 90 elbows and off sets and us 6x6x6 smallest for junctions.? Get yourself set of greenleee punches. Electrical question
GLEN
I have a question regarding 3 phase power, as some of you know I am trying to decide between Felder and Martin. A s I am trying to work out the little details, I am questioning the power that my new building really has. I was told I have 400 amps but I was not told what the 3 phase is< 208,277,240,or 480. I called an electical contractor in the area to find out but have not heard back. I talked to my electrician here and over a very broken cell phone conection he tried to explain the differences are and how the can be manipulated to the machines I want to buy.
My bottom line ..It was way over my head. The building I am renting the landlord thinks its 208 I don't think that is correct. ? Any help would be greatly appreciated I am looking at Format machines for the shop but my largest machine is 230/19 kw @ 25 HP Thank you all Glen -----Original Message----- From: Marlowe McGraw marlomcgraw@... Thanks Brian,
I will likely feed at the same range as original.? Should be the highest speed when I couple the motor to the gearbox?

Re: Standard motor ok for VFD?
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýPretty much any current manufacture motor will run on a VFD, the trick is how much above and below the standard 60hz you can run. I would say from 30hz to 120hz on most motors. My CNC mill runs from 10hz or so on the low end to 200 hz on the high, and I¡¯ve seen some inverter rated motors that run up to 400hz. You just need to determine how much over/under speed ratio you want to accomplish the feeds you need, and see if that works for your motor. On Dec 6, 2016, at 7:36 PM, Marlowe McGraw marlomcgraw@... Standard motor ok for VFD?
I am considering replacing an uber complex mechanical variable speed drive (feed system on a Griggio planer) with a VFD.? I already bought a new C faced 3 phase motor and have a drive that will work , but was wondering if it needs to be a motor of any special duty rating, etc. Marlowe McGraw? |

Pretty sure that¡¯s F-channel. Felder sells a 1 meter extension table with a leg for that position. Take a look at this on the Felder site: Brian Lamb blamb11@... www.lambtoolworks.com On Dec 5, 2016, at 5:32 PM, wildcoach@... [felder-woodworking] wrote:

Re: Extension Table
George
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI don't know if this is suitable for a shaper, but it works great for my jointer. General International out of Canada has collapsible accordion style roller stands that collapse down to about 2 foot and expand to around 6 foot. All 4 legs are independently adjustable and have a measuring scale on them for repeatability. The wheels also lock. I put marks on my floor where each wheel goes and leave the legs at the same adjustment. I can have both the infeed and outfeed ?sides set up and ready to go in probably less than 5 minutes. Each leg is infinitely adjustable , so you can really tweak them in to your machine. I have milled 12 foot lengths of lumber pretty darn flat and feel I could do the same with even longer if I had some. When I'm done with the long stuff they can be collapsed and rolled out the way in no time. I also have another one that I use on the infeed side of my cabinet saw. Works great. Just a thought. I will use two at a time on occasion on my KF700 -- infeed and outfeed.? For the infeed I had to by the Aigner accessory for round bars to get it to mount. Dave On Mon, Dec 5, 2016 at 8:49 PM, John jmkserv@... [felder-woodworking] <felder-woodworking@...> wrote:

Re: Extension Table
Mac, I completely agree with you. I should have asked the sales guy to throw in the cast iron extension table. I was mislead and thought the aluminum extension table could be used on the KF700. Besides, I could get it at 30% off accessory at the time of machine purchase. Oh well, lesson learned. So anyone buys a Saw/shaper machine in the future, must get the narrow cast iron extension table. James On Mon, Dec 5, 2016 at 8:36 PM mac campshure mac512002@... Re: Extension Table
I find it utterly amazing that you purchased a machine and an extension table at a minimum ?6x20"cast table was not part of your purchased. ?The table ends abruptly in less than a foot from spindle center line. This is the responsibility of your sales person,,, period. Like buying a saw with no blades what the hell. ? mac... ? martin/campshure/co/llc mac campshure 7412 elmwood ave. middleton, wi 53562-3106 608-332-2330 cell 608-824-0023 fax

I observed the same thing, extension table is 100% needed on the KF 700. I need to order one too. I think it is F-channel extension table. I have the wide aluminum F-channel extension table, I use it on planer and bandsaw, but too wide, can't use it on the outfeed end of the KF. James
