Re: Spindle Sander

Thanks David. I suspected that I could not slow the shaper adequately. My heart is set on oscillating spindle Sander with cast iron table but it is way down on priority list. I had heard and read that Rigid is a pretty good unit.

Re: Electrical question

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

208 is common along with 220?
Basically the lower the volts the higher the amp draw and of course larger wires with lower volts. ?
You can put buck and boost to jack currents up i.e. 208 to 220.?
If you put in panels I would go with SqD QOND boxes. They give you a lot ?more work space in the box.
I run all 1" conduit and no 10 wire ?except where larger is needed.?
This way you can ether buy or salvage one size.?
I just inventory straight pipe connectors 90 elbows and off sets and us 6x6x6 smallest for junctions.?
Get yourself set of greenleee punches.

Can anyone tell me what style of connection that is and whether Felder makes an extension table for this point? I see a couple in the catalogue, but can't tell which one would work for my application.

Alternatively, if some other company makes an outfeed table, or there are plans to make one, please let me know.

Using a power feeder on the shaper without an extension table provides very little room to catch the outfeed stock, plus I worry that longer stock will get pulled down by gravity at the leading edge and lift up the stock at the cutter head.

As always, your assistance and advice is really appreciated.

I don't know if this is suitable for a shaper, but it works great for my jointer. General International out of Canada has collapsible accordion style roller stands that collapse down to about 2 foot and expand to around 6 foot. All 4 legs are independently adjustable and have a measuring scale on them for repeatability. The wheels also lock. I put marks on my floor where each wheel goes and leave the legs at the same adjustment. I can have both the infeed and outfeed ?sides set up and ready to go in probably less than 5 minutes. Each leg is infinitely adjustable , so you can really tweak them in to your machine. I have milled 12 foot lengths of lumber pretty darn flat and feel I could do the same with even longer if I had some. When I'm done with the long stuff they can be collapsed and rolled out the way in no time. I also have another one that I use on the infeed side of my cabinet saw. Works great. Just a thought. I opted for the Aigner tables over the Felder. They are very?nice although mine arrived with a couple lumps or blemishes in them. Almost like where the?brackets for the legs got welded to the tables bottom?it caused the?aluminum to?deform. Its kinda?a bummer but they are really really nice otherwise.

The F style bracket is what you want to mount either the Felder or Aigner tables. The Felder ones are on sale at the moment. Even on sale they are more expnsive than the Aigner and imop the Aigner are nicer.

Call Felder in Delaware and ask for Geoff Dubet in sales. He is a great guy and will get you exactly what you need for your exact machine..

Re: Extension Table

Mac,

I completely agree with you.

I should have asked the sales guy to throw in the cast iron extension table. I was mislead and thought the aluminum extension table could be used on the KF700.

Besides, I could get it at 30% off accessory at the time of machine purchase.

Oh well, lesson learned. So anyone buys a Saw/shaper machine in the future, must get the narrow cast iron extension table.

?

I ended up buying an Aigner extension fence from Carl at Martin.? I can't remember exactly ?now and their e-shop is down but I think it was about half the price of the Felder.

I find it utterly amazing that you purchased a machine and an extension table at a minimum ?6x20"cast table was not part of your purchased.

I observed the same thing, extension table is 100% needed on the KF 700. I need to order one too.

I think it is F-channel extension table.

I have the wide aluminum F-channel extension table, I use it on planer and bandsaw, but too wide, can't use it on the outfeed end of the KF.

Hi Everyone,

I have a current year KF700SP (delivered 2016) and want to put an extension table at the end of the shaper outfeed but I don't know what connection type that is.? There is a short connection bar that is used to attach the power feeder lift that has room for a small width outfeed table.? Can anyone tell me what style of connection that is and whether Felder makes an extension table for this point? I see a couple in the catalogue, but can't tell which one would work for my application.

Alternatively, if some other company makes an outfeed table, or there are plans to make one, please let me know.

Using a power feeder on the shaper without an extension table provides very little room to catch the outfeed stock, plus I worry that longer stock will get pulled down by gravity at the leading edge and lift up the stock at the cutter head.

As always, your assistance and advice is really appreciated.

Warmly,
