Re: Briquetting Machines
That video and the 1 year follow up video are what drew me to seriously thinking about one. I spoke to the US distributor yesterday to check pricing and availability. The 50kg rated unit is around 22k. They have had very good luck with them and intend to carry the small 20kg unit late this year. The difficulty is getting the motor converted to the US standard. They ship as 3 phase 400 volt 50hz. The manufacturer charges an arm and a leg to swap the motor, and once you add customs and container shipping, it gets quite expensive. He figured it would run about 15k, but won¡¯t know until the deal is inked. Obviously way less than what is currently available here, but still a lot more than our overseas friends are paying.

Joe, I am at a stage where I can benefit from a briquette press, I have about 20 x 60 gal bins and 10 x bulk bags, when I am busy they are mostly full, and when they are all full I have to dump them in my garden, obviously I dont store these bins where
I am, I have to drive them to another site, everything add up.?
Alko is very nice, with briquette press added it's eye watery expensive. I have a Nederman S750/1000, I will add a Prodeco or Comafer unit to the underside of the Nederman, some modification will be needed to make it fit but I dont think its too hard. I really want a briquette press, the reduced size of the waste will save me a lot of time and logistics, obviously if its only occasional once every fortnight dumping its a luxury to have a briquette press.? |

Re: AWFS Updates - After show thoughts
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI attended Tue, Wed, and Thurs with a couple of friends from Canada.? We thought the show was one of the smaller ones since we started attending in 2006.? Maybe 1/3 the size of the largest show.? Back before the housing bust the show took all of one hall for machines and tools and maybe half of the other hall for materials.? This was in a new hall but I¡¯d saw the new hall was about the size of the old machine hall and it included the machines and materials and a lot of space for tables and chairs.? No busses for attendees, and a quick taxi line.? Quick lines for food and coffee.? We thought attendance was very light. ? On the economy.? I was surprised the lead times for new machines was surprisingly short.? Felder and Martin both could get a custom configuration Planer shipped by Sept.? Large discounts at a lot of vendors.? I suspect the market has nearly peaked and we will see a downturn in the next 6 months or so.? Anecdotal but I overheard on two different occasions guys complaining that their budget was cut. ? Re: Hammer K3 Winner Cross Cut Fence Profile Dimensions
Hi Nick,
I don't have exact dimensions or an original drawing, maybe someone else does.? But I like you was trying to make some 3D printed accessories and measured up my rail so that may give you a starting point. See attached. Take my measurements with a grain of salt, they worked for me but rails and printer tolerances may vary.? Thanks, Joe |
Hammer K3 Winner Cross Cut Fence Profile Dimensions
Hi Guys,
I was wondering whether anyone has a drawing or can point me somewhere that has the exact dimensions of the Hammer K3 cross cut fence dimensions of the profile.? I am in the process of designing some 3D printed parts and was hoping someone may have them already and dont need to measure. Any assistance would be greatly appreciate. Cheers Nick |
Briquetting Machines
I saw the AWFS discussion mentioned briquetting machines. ?I have a friend with an Al-Ko with a briquetting machine. ?I always thought that was the most luxury part of his shop. ?He never had to empty dust bins. ?The briquettes went out a chute into a green waste container to be rolled out for pickup unless he wanted to use it for firewood.
I have an Al-Ko. ?I do not have the Briquetter option that goes under the unit and increases the overall height and the overall cost significantly where there is a maintenance issue. I can justify my slider with Mac clamps and OMGA with pneumatic clamps and shaper with feeder as a way to do woodworking with increased safety. I can't afford an "it happened so fast" moment even once in my life. ?For a Briquetter, for a hobby guy or a pro shop, seems like a pure luxury expense. ?However, what a nice luxury. I am only familiar with the Al-Ko. ?If there are now less expensive low maintenance options, perhaps a luxury item so consider as a maybe someday purchase. |
