Re: Felder parallel fence
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHere¡¯s how the measuring part attaches to the support. It seems like you¡¯ll probably just need to purchase some kipp levers and you should be able to make it work. How long is your support table attachment? The standard one on the parallel fence is 31.5¡± long. If yours is shorter then you¡¯ll have to trim the measurement part most likely.? Re: Felder parallel fence
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI hear yah Dan, its too bad Felder doesn¡¯t offer that longer support table as a separate item anymore, or else I could use Bill¡¯s scale rod. ?I¡¯m going to order Lambs fence, most likely the analog log version. ?I trying to think if I¡¯d ever regret not getting the DRO version though. ?I have DRO¡¯s on my large crosscut fence already. ?So I would just use those to set the parallel fence. Re: Felder parallel fence
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýBill, Thanks for the length and pics. To people who are familiar with Felder parallel fence, could?I attach the bracket of the rod with scale (from the parallel fence) to the end plate of this extension table that I have for use as a parallel fence? not sure if it is secured properly as it is attached with a single bolt at bottom. The end of the this extension is almost 33¡± from blade so I understand that I will not be able to use the full range. BTW, what are the cases where one would need the 50¡± range. I cannot imagine parallel ripping more than 12¡± wide regularly. So if you have a 36¡±+ wide piece and would like to rip into three 12¡± wide boards, would you not prefer to set the parallel fence once to 12¡±, clamp the piece and rip a 12¡± board and repeat. Re: Felder K700S (and others) Wenge Zero Clearance Inserts
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýTo the guys that expressed interest in ordering an insert (Ed, Mike, Jared, Wade, John), they are done!? I routed a slot in each piece for the riving knife. One thing to keep in mind when installing the insert is first plunge the blade up without the riving knife to complete the slot. Then reinstall riving knife and you¡¯re good to go.? (Ask me how I came to realize that lol)? Here¡¯s a link to Felder¡¯s version ($83.70 plus tax)? I¡¯m confident you guys won¡¯t be disappointed in these for almost 1/3 the price!? Looks like there are other saws that this insert will fit. Namely: k700 series (not sure of the k740), k500 and k540 series, and Hammer K4. I have ten inserts available currently, please reach out to me with your contact info and address for shipping quote.? On Mar 12, 2022, at 9:42 AM, Edward Cohen <ecohentoo@...> wrote:

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Bill, How long the the extrusion with scale and can you share a pic of the bracket by the reticle? I would like to figure out how I can attach it to an ext table and use it. Imran? On Mar 12, 2022, at 1:08 PM, Bill Belanger <Bill@...> wrote:

Re: Eagerly awaiting info on the new Felder FW 850...
The only time the platen gets removed here is for hogging off with a 60 grit belt. There's a 100 or 120 grit belt on the machine 95% of the time. I haven't measured the thickness difference between those belts and the 180, but it's not so great to cause excessive heat to be generated.

Re: Fritz and Fran jigs
Tim,
To be sure of a parallel cut, I always set the front (fritz) to the measurement and then slide Franz up to Fritz and use a straight scrap piece to align Franz with Fritz.? ?I only really use the scale on Franz for tapers and i recalibrate it using the scrap piece before each use. I have ripped many hundreds of rails and stiles this way - always parallel. Jerry |

I ordered a zero clearance insert with my K700 that is coming in next month. Based on what I am hearing, I would also be interested in purchasing one of these inserts. My saw will not have a scoring blade. Ed Cohen? E. Cohen Designs? On Sat, Mar 12, 2022, 8:43 AM Mike <mike@...> wrote: ?Me too.? |
