I've watched your videos Jason, great work! I aspire to convert my 2004 AD741 to a spiral cutter head, someday.

Re: Felder K940S
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThis is how I configured my leveling feet on the machine. ?I used the lower nut to adjust height - a washer is necessary here.?Once the machine was level, I added a second washer and nut on the opposite side of the hole in the chassis, and tightened that top nut. If your floor is has a lot of tilt - many garages are this way to create drainage toward the door - then you might want to get the longer version of the leveling foot from McMaster. ?That part number is 6111K372. Re: Felder K940S
Levelling feet are an option. I¡¯ve always used a couple of wood shims under a corner to make sure my chassis doesn¡¯t rock, other than that it¡¯s not necessary, plus, I don¡¯t move my machine around. Some folks that are taller, prefer to put feet on the machine to get it higher, as well as level if by chance your garage floor has a lot of slope.

Re: KF700 Power Drive - setup question
Hi Mike!?
I received a KF700SP this year, and Felder had installed bolts to limit the range of the saw tilt to a narrow range like the condition you're describing. Worth a call to Felder on Monday, but I'd check the ways for the tilt and see if you can identify a bolt that was installed for shipping purposes.....? -- Tom Gensmer Heritage Home Renewals, LLC Minneapolis, MN |
Re: KF700 Power Drive - setup question
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýAre you saying that the dust collector turns on, without the saw running but when you reach the two angle limits? Could be a bit of extra current draw at the limits. Seems like there is not enough headroom. Can you increase the kick on current limit on the sensor? I do not have power drive so just guessing that a reset is needed as it might be lost and thinks the limits have been reached. Not sure how you reset it though. ?I picked up a new KF700SP on Thursday and it's almost ready to use, except for one major problem: The saw will only tilt between 19 and 25.7 degrees. I've read the manual three times and can't find any mention of a shipping bolt or wedge to remove. One hint is that my current-sensing dust collector turns on when I reach the limits. It doesn't turn on for any other power drive controls.? Does someone know the trick? Thanks, Mike |
Re: 3d Dro stop
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýMeasure the exact distance from the blade to the edge of the fence extrusion and how low and stepped back do you want the step to clear the dust shroud. I can change the model and print a few for testing.

Re: KF700 Power Drive - setup question
How is that possible? The saw blade is at 0 degree by default, I cannot image Felder ships a saw with the blade tilted at 19 degree. Re: 3d Dro stop
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýPre-X-roll? Or X-roll? Pretty sure the ¡°Non DRO" long and short Versions that I uploaded to the group will work on the X-roll machines. If you are talking an old machine like mine, then I would have to design one¡. but Felder made one that just slipped into the t-slot and spaced out to be flush with the stops. I have one somewhere¡.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýWith any collector, it is good to check the amp draw of the motor with all gates open and clean filters.? That will verify if any gates need to stay closed to stay under FLA.? Many impellers are designed so it isn't possible to overamp the motors but not
all are.? Dirty filters will reduce the amp draw as will closing gates.? My impeller is a straight blade so I need to tune my system by adjusting speed so as to maximize pressure with the gates I use together yet not exceed amp draw when several are open to
clean the room.? Dave From: [email protected] <[email protected]> on behalf of rainger <rainger@...>

I just dealt with this same problem. I picked up a second hand rl160 and had the same issue you describe. I replaced the capacitors and the thermal overload to no avail. I learned that the rl160 is happier with more ductwork connected (more
resistance)? if you run it wide open the motor pulls too much current and trips. Unfortunately connecting it to more ductwork only made it take longer to trip, 15 min rather than 5. I ended up purchasing a new 3ph motor from felder to replace the old single
phase 230v motor in the machine.? I suspect that the single phase motors used in these machines are a bit undersized and over time develop problems from running hot. The 3ph ones may as well idk.
Even the new motor pulls more amps than I would expect from the spec plate but the felder tech seemed to think it was ok...? since replacing the motor I've had no more problems. The new motor was relatively easy to swap, although these machines
were certainly not designed with ease of service in mind, and it was relatively inexpensive ($350)
Fully clogged filters could produce the same result,? but if they look ok and you get good suction when it is running I would recommend replacing the motor.??
The felder tech Phillip Dingus was who I dealt with and he was very helpful though unable to completely diagnose the problem.?
Best of luck, don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.?
