Is this also normal?

Does Felder have any type of return?policy?

Re: FB510 Vibration

Jay,

I install the blade so the blade teeth overhang the upper wheel. I used to install the blade on the center of the upper wheel, the tracking was terrible, can't cut straight.

Also, the blade makes difference too. The Fleder steel blade I got for free produces the lowest quality cut. I also tension the blade one size up. For example, 3/4" blade, I tension it to the mark for 1" inch blade.

My FB510 is levelled on the garage floor, supported by the wood blank. I sharpen the steel blade myself using Dremel, pretty easy and fast.

Re: Anyone have a digi drive manual?

Problem is the table is all the way down and my height readout says .250 so it thinks the table is near the top. I can but the f key and run it up manually but only to .120 and then when I go down the table bottoms out and gives an error message. There's got to be a way to get the table to the top and then reset it.

Re: Anyone have a digi drive manual?

There’s an AD 741 user manual in the file section manuals on the fog site.
Maybe that would help you

Re: Euro Guard on K700 #sawsetup

Edited

Here is another home made version.? If you do a web search for "Overarm Blade Guard Gordon Sampson" you'll find a PDF of an article many years ago on Woodcentral.? (I wasn't sure if external links are allowed here so I didn't post a direct link.)

The ceiling mount was inspired by some photos posted by Sam Blasco on the MinMax forum in 2003. You cannot execute the?ceiling mount of you have 20 ft ceilings but for 8-10 ft it's no problem.
?
In the photos below you will see that I executed the ceiling mount a bit different than Sam's and also provided left-to-right adjustability. When I am ripping, I can move the guard to the left to make more room for narrow cuts (use a push block!). This position also works good for edge trimming since more of the dust goes into the collector rather than out the side. Moving the guard to the right also gives me clearance for my miter guide.??I have a stepstool (3-step ladder) nearby to the saw. I stand on that, loosen the four knobs approx 1/2 turn, slide the guard into the new position and retighten. This takes about 30 seconds. The solution may not be what the pros want, but for this amateur it works just fine.
?
I intended to use telescoping aluminum square tube to provide vertical adjustability but I was unable to find enough for both supports. So the front one uses the telescoping tubes while the rear one uses a wooden support and an aluminum tube.
?
Overall I am satisfied - the guard does a great job of dust collection and keeps my hands away from the blade.

Like Mac just said gauge blocks, and once you become in tune with your machine you'll know how much height a slight turn of the wheel will give you. It's really a pain to walk around the slider to view a gauge on the height adjustment.?

Curious as why you would need/want to have this? I use a height gauge for setting dado blade height its quick and easy. Well maybe not quite as fast as built in gauge.

Would some sort of aftermarket DRO gauge work? Wixely come to mind as one of the least expensive ones.

With saw take your dial indicator or a block and touch the high point of the blade at zero . Set the dial at zero and that’s it you want to do a 10 mm deep cut it will be 10 . If with a slider I would zero off slider?

David, I thought the dial is less cumbersome that any gauge for which I need to figure out the apex of the blade tooth. To set i tup, you do a test cu, measure with a dial caliper on your test piece, adjust the dial and you are done for a long time.
With a gauge you need to do the adjustment every time as I am currently doing with my dial caliper. Unless there is something I am missing.

The dial should be accurate as long as you always adjust against the screw. So as example if you are adjusting up against the play in the screw, you can’t adjust down and expect the dial to be accurate,.you have to go down and than back up.
All adjustments work the same way on any machine that has a dial.

Let me explain:

The OEM handwheels for a K500 blade height is not fixed to the arbor as you need to remove it to lock the blade angle adjustment. There is a lot of play when you turn the wheel due to the fact that the wheel is not lock. Thus, I do not see how useful the dial indicator with the ALU wheel can be as long as this play is present.

If anyone has use the dial indicator with the ALU wheel for the blade height adjustment can shim in that would be nice. So far, I use a oneway gauge and dial indicator, but this is laborious overtime as I need to get the zenith of the blade tooth to get the proper measurement. I am looking for a more permanent setup for which you adjust one time and use it many many times.

Thanks,

Bill
