I have a height gage but would like to have the hand wheel version height indicator so that I could make changes on the fly similar to setting stops on a fence.? Fast.? The down side is that it has to be re-stet ?to each blade diameter so not convenient to my 200mm ?dado and 315mm combo (or mental math can be calculated at a certain risk). ?And then there is the worm gear backlash to deal with.? A much better set up would be a dro mounted on the trunion as in the Power Drive version.? The one I have on the shaper spindle is very handy.? It can be re-zero'ed at any position.? I also use the one on the planer but it is not as accurate so confirm final thickness with a caliper.
?
And then there is the problem with my calipers coming out of tune because I dropped them too many times.? And then there is my bi-focals.? I would love to have a big red read out and zero button.

Curious as why you would need/want to have this? I use a height gauge for setting dado blade height its quick and easy. Well maybe not quite as fast as built in gauge.
Would some sort of aftermarket DRO gauge work? Wixely come to mind as one of the least expensive ones.
