Re: Aigner shaper accessories on Felder Combos

GLEN

Hi David,
Opps I need to quit multitasking I guess...
It was the Aigner Integal fence and it was for the Profil45zx
whats on my order is 432-80016 Shaper fence "integral-a" 500 mm for spindle moulder fence 250

That might be it but I changed my order so many times I am confused.
I might be just second guessing myself.

Thanks for all of your input.
Glen

Glen, which Aigner fence are you talking about? ? If you mean the Integral Fence, that¡¯s for a shaper not a saw and has no applicability to your Kappa. ? Please clarify.

As I want it, does the saw need to be modified for it or is it adaptable to the existing configuration the saw was built to. Some how I remember that the saw had to be machined specifically for the Aigner fence.
But then again I cant remember what I did yesterday.

Anyone know if you can get the fences that are drilled out for our machines from this vendor?

If so anyone purchase them and have a idea what the final cost was after shipping so forth and so on.

The fences have been high on my list for quite some time and I just keep putting them off. Don¡¯t know why considering how much of my income I continually spend on tools were to week n]month to month year to year...

Re: KF 700 SP options

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Hi SW,

I run the Comatic DC40 smart feeder with single phase 120 volt. ?Since the DC40 converts AC power to DC it is possible to move some jumpers and run the feeder with single phase or three phase and with 120 volt or 240 volt.

I like to control the power feeder independently of the spindle power on or off. ?I would like to have it set up so the power feeder stops when the red power off button is pressed so that is something is going wrong the feeder stops with the spindle. ?But that is not possible when using 120 volt as the KF700 supplies whatever power it is running on.
If you are running the power feeder from the plug on the KF700 then it will power on and off with the start stop buttons for the shaper or the saw. ?I don¡¯t like the power feeder running when I am hand feeding something. ?I suppose I could turn the feeder off with the feeder controls.

If you are considering the Comatic Smart Stand for your Comatic feeder I think it is too large to use on a KF700. ?A three wheeled feeder with standard stand and lift assist device is ideal for a KF700.

I think 7.5 HP is enough power. ?I have not found 7.5 HP to be a limitation on my Profile 45z shaper. ?

So, I reached out for Liz Rogers for a quote of a KF 700 SP with the following options:

Option 264S - 7.5 HP (5.5 kW) motor
Option 25 - Electrical display setting, inch
Option 139 - Remote "ON"-switch on sliding table for main blade and scoring unit
Option 14 - 3-phase CEE coupling for additional equipment with time-delayed connection (essential for the use of a power feeder)

Option 201 - Electrical height and angle adjustment of the saw unit with LED display (#119),?K2 "Power-Drive"

Option 119 - Electrical height and angle adjustment of the spindle moulder with LED display?(#201)

Option 82 - Preparation for Dado tooling up to 19.5mm in width
Option 75 - Electronic scoring unit, 3 7/8" (100mm) with main saw blade 11 3/4" (300mm)
Option 77 - rip capacity 1250 mm
Option 84 - Micro adjustable rip fence
Option 86 - Digital display for rip fence with fine adjustment (#77)
Option 176 - Inch scale for rip capacity 49"
Option 105 - Moulder spindle diameter 1 1/4", usable height 115mm
Option 135 - Dimension sliding table XL, cutting length 3200mm (126"), anodised** with edging?shoe

Option 161 - 1500 mm Outrigger table for 2500-3700 sliding tables
Option 195 - Inch scale f! or crosscut fence 3200
Option 172 - Outrigger digital cut stop 3200 mm (126"), 2 digital fence stops, for outrigger?table 1500

Item 430-017 - Tilting device "F" with gas spring
Transport and mounting unit for outrigger table
Overhead saw guard

Questions I have for the group:
1.? Should I upgrade to the 10 HP motor?? I have? no idea the cost to upgrade to this motor from 7.5 HP; waiting for Liz to tell me.? If the answer is "Yes," then will the Phase Perfect (PP) PT-330 able to power this motor + the motor for the scoring unit + the power feeder (?Co-Matic maybe)?? I read that PP under rate their phase converter.? I also remember Co-Matic feeder can be run 1 phase???

2.? Any recommendation on what else to add/subtract from the options list?? The group seems to lean toward the "cry once" philosophy base on my reading of old posts.??

3.? Do the imperial scale also has metric scale on it?? My Hammer K3 scales has both.

4.? Is it relatively easy to add a digital stop in the future?? If it is, then I will just order the standard option and buy the 604-118 digital stop in the future and add it to the right-end of the cross cut fence.??

5.? Any one has pictures of the overhead saw guard of a KF 700 SP?? Is it bolted to the floor like the Kappa saw's?? I can't find any picture of the current model year searching online; just the usual advertising pictures.??

There are a lot of box making in my future!? :)

Thank you all!

The price on their website includes 19% VAT, so your cost is their website price / 1.19 plus the shipping. The shipping cost varies depending on the weight of the items.

You can just place the order on their website, if your order goes through, it means your items are not over weight, so you will be charged with standard 139..99 euro shipping charge. If your order does not go through, you can contact them, or wait, then you will get a paypal payment request which will include the total cost with the updated shipping charge, if you are ok with it, you can pay thru paypal, then wait for your order.

Re: Aigner shaper accessories on Felder Combos

Glen,

I do not have your saw or the Aigner fence but IIRC, the recommendation was to drill and thread the saw/shaper cast iron top to match standard Aigner fence. This will allow it to be moved to a diff machine or would be easier to sell if no longer needed.

Yes, the outboard fence Steve shows in his video is the idea. Aigner has one that uses their rails to attach, at least from what I gather from the catalog available on werkzeuge fuchs page 74 Steve shows it nicely in use for a full thickness profile cut. I guess you might be able to finagle it using differential between infeed and outfeed fences but with an outboard, with a good reference edge, you can do a combination "rip" and profiling in the same action. Rangate has a similar video up in their demo of the deep glue line cutterhead from Alpine Workshops? .?

Re: Aigner shaper accessories on Felder Combos

There was a thread named 'KF700sp accessorie' from?last year, talking about all the useful Aigner accessories including how to mount the Aigner thickness stop on Felder sliding table.?

David Best posted a picture modifying the Felder P-Channel mounting block on his flickr forum,?.

Looks like Aigner thickness stop is back on werkzeuge fuchs website.

Sorry for duplicate info but the other msgs were not there when I wrote. I am out of US with not the best connection but it could be that I need to reload manually by clicking "conversation" to get the latest msgs.

GLEN

If I might throw a question,
I have a new Kappa sitting in the crate that should have had a Aigner fence with it but I believe that it did not get placed when i ordered the saw. My error for not checking the order.
As I want it, does the saw need to be modified for it or is it adaptable to the existing configuration the saw was built to. Some how I remember that the saw had to be machined specifically for the Aigner fence.
But then again I cant remember what I did yesterday.

Glen ?

Anyone know if you can get the fences that are drilled out for our machines from this vendor?

If so anyone purchase them and have a idea what the final cost was after shipping so forth and so on.

The fences have been high on my list for quite some time and I just keep putting them off. Don¡¯t know why considering how much of my income I continually spend on tools were to week n]month to month year to year..

FYI, bunch of us ordered Aigner stuff from

at much lower prices than in USA. They normally run an 8% discount which helps offset the shipping charges.

It would be a PITA if there was an issue with the item but no one here has voiced any issues with there orders.
