Yes, the outboard fence Steve shows in his video is the idea. Aigner has one that uses their rails to attach, at least from what I gather from the catalog available on werkzeuge fuchs page 74 Steve shows it nicely in use for a full thickness profile cut. I guess you might be able to finagle it using differential between infeed and outfeed fences but with an outboard, with a good reference edge, you can do a combination "rip" and profiling in the same action.
