My question is why what’s wrong with the nice concrete floor you’ve got seems like a nice to me. It’s a shop floor. It’s not your kitchen.

Re: Fixing Felder X-roll short cross cut fence T-nut - AKA group buy of improved T-nut

Thank you Netanel.
?
David mentioned on his Flickr video, regarding this upgrade, that probably 9 out of 10 1100mm cross-cut fences do not register accurately each time they are put on, taken off, put on again…etc. ?I’m definitely in the “9” group! ?I took sometime this morning to run through four setups. ?Removing the fence completely each time, just to see where my setup was. ?Attached picture showing the results.
?
** Sorry David Best, plywood method here. ?
?
You can see the results were all over the place with the various dimensions. ?
So Netanel count me in for a single set up. ?I’ll ship my aluminum block to you when needed.

As for the flip stop not being offered for the single setup order, I’m hoping you could reconsider. ?Reason being is two fold. ?David mentioned the single adjustment screw in the newly designed flip stop is a much easier?experience. ?Versus messing around with two points to go back and forth each time to get things dialed in. ?And second point, aesthetically, it just looks great! ?See the comparison pictures.

Two more questions to the group regarding the 1100mm cross-cut fence:

1. What accuracy tolerances are you guys living with on this set up? ?My cuts were an 18” length. ?
?
2. There really is no way to index this fence to lock in from a side to side movement is there? ?Such as how the larger cross-cut fence is set up with a pin on my K700S. ?With how it’s removed, you have to loosen both Kipp levers and the aluminum mounting blocks just slide back and fourth losing their?locations. ?Am I thinking about that correctly?
?
Thx,
?

KF700 Broken Power Drive Motor

Hi F.O.G,?

I have a 2007 Kf700 and the electronic rise and fall of the blade has stopped working. When I try to adjust blade height the motor makes a grinding noise but there is no movement.?

I have contacted Felder who have suggested it needs a new worm gear motor for this.?

Has anyone had any experience replacing this motor? Could you give any advice??

I have a quote for an engineer to come out but it is extremely expensive on top of the part and if I can replace it myself then I would like to.?

Thanks,?

Aidan?

Anecdotal but I wonder where CVTs could be today if it weren't for the F1 ban on them after Williams Racing made tests runs that indicated a 1-3 second per lap advantage over fixed gear configurations back in 1993-1994 (?).? 7 minute video but fascinating telling of the story. And the sound. I think of this every time I floor my Honda CRV (haha).

Re: Feedback on the sliding saw selection

Actually that used C3-31 for 10K looks pretty well equipped, I would be tempted if I wasn't so in love with my 'antique' 1999 C3-31.??

If you should happen to end up without the dado option, I recently discovered that the .197" / .250" / .375" box cutter sets can be used with very little modification to the saw and will give you clean, smooth, and square slots and dados.?

Hi Aaron,

I had a chat with Ruan (head of Felder) maybe a yr ago when they seem to have opened up used machine sales to any brand and seemingly without any checks. Someone had a bad experience and that lead me to email him. After our conversation they completely removed those advertisements. I don’t want to imply that it happened just because of our conversation, who knows what else might be going on but I was happy to see that change.

So I hope what we have now is better but it goes without saying, one is on their own buying a used machine on-line. Hopefully, it is someone lazy or machine is in storage but you never know.

Regardless thanks for bringing it up. It is good to be aware.

I also saw that, but it seems suspicious because the ad only has boilerplate web product photos and does not give an exact table length.? I would be highly cautious on this one and would want to visit the physical saw before sending any money.

I was trying to figure out what was going on to as I'm respond via email as well. Thanks for the feedback i'll try and keep the videos separate from now on.

Re: #forsale Big Squeeze air clamps #forsale

Jonathan - AHA so that was the problem when I checked my email this AM. As primarily engaging via email, going back to groups.io was a bit disorienting and couldn't figure out what tripped the account lockout. Big files and videos are best served with links rather than direct attachments in my experience.
?
Sorry for hijacking - best of luck selling the Big Squeeze.

The listing states "Hammer C3 31", but the pictures show a machine that actually looks like a "C3 41 Comfort" (due to the length of of the jointer table).?? The retail on the C3 41 Comfort is $14.36k, so it looks like a bit of a savings.?? I don't know what components/options are part of this unit.?? If you're interested, you probably want to talk to them to confirm what the actual model number is.

Kevin, my vote would be to share it with the group.? I would be interested in a remote start option for my soon-to-arrive K3.

Weird I'll take a look at that. Thanks Jonathan!

Why, that's a thought. That's probably table plus carriage, not the table alone? I will ask my rep, thank you for the idea.
