Re: Kundig Uniq
I've used the Kundig before. It is a nice machine, but it is small. For me, hard to beat is my Ekstrom Carlson 112. Two, 8" high x 58" long plattens. 60" tilting tables, plus a tilting end table.? Re: Aigner shaper accessories on Felder Combos
Like JoelGelman's T27, my TF-130 has two sets of pin locations for the hood.
?
The primary pin locations are optimized for using shaper tooling and the fence plates won't retract any further than the face of the spindle shaft.?
?
The secondary pin locations are located in such a manner that the fence plates can be positioned several inches behind the center line of the spindle, allowing through-milling such as dovetails:?
?
As Joel and others have suggested, your best option would be to drill two new/additional holes to index your hood assembly in a second location.?

By that context, it looks like a bargain for someone with an eye for Kundig equipment and extra room in the budget at year end. On Thu, Dec 26, 2024 at 8:04?AM David Davies via <myfinishingtouch=[email protected]> wrote:

Those don't come around?often ... I know Kundig seems to have quite?the reputation ... but is $7500 the right price? How much were/are these?machines new?? I'm not sure what distinguishes it from a lower price offering? like the Felder/Hammer HS950. I finally picked one up this summer and can't imagine what could be better besides a longer platen/bed. That machine is like $2000 brand new, right?? On Thu, Dec 26, 2024 at 7:04?AM David Davies via <myfinishingtouch=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: Aigner shaper accessories on Felder Combos
The Martin T-27 has 2 sets of holes allowing the Aigner to be secured in a front or back position (125mm back). ?The touch screen allows you to select the position and the settings are adjusted accordingly. ?When used as a router table, all features of the Aigner fence are available. ?In contrast, the Martin T-12 has a post that projects upward behind the fence as that goes to the touchscreen, and that prevents the fence from moving back far enough to use the Aigner with the integral fence. ?The older literature touts the ability to use router bits, but the picture shows the fence without the integral fence jaws attached (see attached). ?When you add the thickness of the integral fence, the fence is too far forward.
?
I mention this not to suggest one needs a T-27. ?I am suggesting that if a shaper has a fence assembly that can be pushed back and secured in that position (tap 2 holes), that may be a nice way to take advantage of the integral fence features while having the shaper double as a router table. If the shaper has a fence position reading where it "thinks" it is in the forward position when it is not, perhaps by knowing the amount of setback, you just adjust by that amount each time you are in the back position.
?
Just something that comes to mind

Flow x pressure = horsepower The formula oversimplifies reality, as horsepower is directed through impeller designs with different efficiencies.? And even for a given impeller design, the efficiency of pushing air is affected by atmospheric pressure.? Or to put it another way, you need a constant factor added into the equation that accounts for impeller design and atmospheric pressure.? A few hundred feet of elevation one way or the other doesn't make enough of a difference to worry about.? But here in Lake Tahoe, the ~1950m elevation makes a material difference.
?
Any dust collector manufacturer worth dealing with will publish a fan-curve chart for the collector's performance at the inlet, which will allow one to avoid the need for test equipment to measure the static pressure of the collector, but those fan curve charts will be calculated for something close to sea level.? Better manufacturers will be able to supply a fan curve chart adjusted for a specific altitude.? For example, here's what Al-Ko has provided me for an 160P, with the sea-level and 2000m curves showing the drop in performance at my altitude:
?
?
Not every vendor will offer that personal service, so the alternative is finding a reference for a static pressure adjustment factor for a given altitude.? Al-Ko's standard fan-curve is calculated at 400m altitude, while their adjusted chart shows a drop of about 500 Pa at my altitude.? Using the reference book adjustment factor of 1.27 increase in static pressure for my elevation, and you get a result that pretty closely matches their adjusted chart.? With either approach, it's then reasonable to use something like Bill Pentz's spreadsheet to estimate ductwork static pressure, and have a good chance of designing a dust collection system that will function as expected once purchased and installed.? I'm a one man operation, so the simplicity of planning for a single tool at a time works for me.? Bill's spreadsheet won't work for anyone designing a multi-tool collection system, as he acknowledges.? Even his advice for calculating dust collection for a single tool with multiple dust ports is a bit questionable.? Were I looking at a multi-tool collection system, I'd just bite the bullet and pay a professional to do the more complex math needed. |
Re: K 740 s sliding table start/stop button not operated
开云体育Hi Gurer, If the saw runs from the switch on the chassis then the cable connection must have been made. If it does not run at all then look for a cable under the slider and a mating one in the chassis. These need to be connected. Even if the cable is connected and the saw does not run or runs intermittently it could be that the ways in the slider need cleaning. Common occurrence on new saws. Look for 2 wires, one on each side, that come out of a hole underneath the slider and connect to the ways with a ring terminal. These are from the slider switches. Electrical signal is transferred from the slider to the extrusion below via the ways and bearings. I have only seen this once so going from memory but at least should be good enough to get the idea across. Just clean the ways with a dry lubricant like LPS1 or similar. Hopefully, this will get you going. If not, I can try helping over a whattsapp call. Have done it a few times for owners overseas. ? [Edited Message Follows] Hello everyone, I have a K 740 s and my on/off buttons on the sliding table are not working. I had the machine's electrical panel checked by a good technician. He said everything seemed normal. I also contacted an authorized Felder technician in Türkiye. He only sent an electrical diagram, gave advice from a distance and frankly I don't think he knows his job very well. The authorized service is very far from the city I live in and they wanted a high service fee to come to the workshop and check it. If anyone has encountered such a situation before or has an idea about this, I would be happy to hear from them.
Notice: The things I checked,
?
1. I checked the 9-volt battery that operates the control buttons.
2.I checked the electrical and electronic equipment of the machine (including fuses). There may be things we missed.
3.I tried to reprogram the radio transmitters inside the electrical panel according to the diagram sent by the technician, but I did not get any results.Thank you for reading. I used Google Translate so there may be some typos. Sorry about that.

Re: Aigner shaper accessories on Felder Combos
开云体育One member trimmed the front end of the micro adjust block so the fence moves further back. ?That or drilling and tapping a new set of holes. At least locating the holes should be easy as there are 2 sets, so just drill in line. I recently drilled and tapped for bowmouldmaster and it really was pretty easy. The main hurdle was to find a good spot on the casting for the holes, especially avoiding the webs underneath. Re: Aigner shaper accessories on Felder Combos
I have the same hood and added an aigner integral fence to it that I picked up in Europe.
The fences use a threaded plate instead of that big nut- I replaced the Felder threaded stud kip handle with one that matched the threading of the plate. I have a faint recollection of doing some minor alteration to something else but it all came together in the end. Lloyd Natof Oak Park Illinois |
