Re: rip blade

Another vote here for Ridge Carbide.? I recently bought two blades from them, good service, no issues.? They emailed me just to confirm that I really wanted Felder 30mm arbor with pin holes, and shipped the blades out within a few days.?

?

I also got a Forrest dado king from Sliver’s Mill.? Again, decent service, no issues, shipped fairly quickly.?

?

Each purchase was through their web pages, but each site lists a phone number, & presumably you could call in an order.? I called Ridge with some questions before purchase, they were very helpful.

I agree, the internet is the wild west, no telling where your info ends up. . .

Shortening a bandsaw blade

Mike D.

Recently, I purchased a carbide-tipped bandsaw blade from Starrett, but?mis-read the description - leading to a 13’ 4” blade for my 13’ N4400. A rather expensive senior-moment without reading glasses.

Starrett won’t exchange the blade, and the current sense is they no longer provide repair services - Customer Service is looking into this.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: P coupling Felder adapter to Hammer

Hi Nathan,

Over a year ago I was also playing with that idea and whipped up a quick prototype as can be seen in the picture below. It is/was the goal to make some 3d printed parts and use the VEIKO T ruler () To date, I didn't spent the time to get the design forward. Currently I am just using a stop block that I fix with an F-clamp. I fixed it on the top T-slot as I have my doubts about the strength of the side mounted T-slot when it comes to being loaded with a 60-70 cm plywood panel. Does anybody have experience with load capabilities of the side of the sliding table on a Hammer?

Regards
Bram

Re: rip blade

I have ridge carbide blades and have been very happy with the blades as well as the customer service.

I would suggest ridge carbide. I also had good luck with forest.

I second Quinn Saw, we have a rip blade they made. Also Forrest is very good to deal with.

P coupling Felder adapter to Hammer

Hi everyone.

I have an opportunity to procure a felder parallel cut guide that is designed for its P coupling system for felder saws. I currently own a hammer C3 31. Has anyone come across an adapter or suitable mounting method that could make this a worthwhile purchase?

the parallel cut guide is the same as here - ?

Thanks,
Nathan

Re: rip blade

I have a couple of Tenryu blades - I am not very happy with my rip blade. I think the tolerances are poor.

I have an Amana that seems pretty good, although I did have a local shop retried it to a flat top profile.

Re: rip blade

Hi Mike
There may be better options for getting good blades from known reputable suppliers, however....
One way to deal with overseas or suspect suppliers is (if you are prepared to risk the total amount of the? transaction is) to use a debit card on an account that only has that amount of money in it.??
Cheers
David

FOG,

Felder called me back! ?Holy crap they actually called me back! ?It’s a miracle!

Anyways, they do sell leveling feet for the AD941, without having to buy the mobility kit.

David Best is correct, it’s an 11mm through hole at each corner area of the machine, and you just need to source 10mm washers and nuts locally, get two washers and two nuts for each foot. ?The leveling feet are a whopping $5.31 each. ?Mine will be here in two weeks from Austria.

Thx all,

Wade
