Re: 16" 4 knife cutter block
开云体育
Dave,?
Thanks for the idea, I hadn't considered it as an option.
It is a very early machine running the twin Z section vee belts rather than the J9 Poly-vee belts so my options to change the cutter head pulley may be limited.
Changing the motor pulley is likely to be an expensive piece of engineering work.
I am looking at converting it to a variable feed set up as the machine wasn't originally fitted with it so may be able to solve the issue that way.
I have to finish the other two machines before i can start the planner so there is plenty of time for research.
Regards
Paul

If you don't find a head, consider swapping a pulley to speed up the two knife some.? People run 4 knife heads with blanks on only two knives, often with carbide so changes are few.? Two knife heads were very common with rpms in the 6000 range in Euro machines.?

I know I am probably better off going searching for either a unicorn or the loch ness monster but nothing ventured is nothing gained.
If anyone has gone down the road of fitting a spiral head to a 16"? 6 or 7 series planner or combo and has the original 4 knife cutter head lurking on a shelf somewhere,
then I would be interested in a sensible discussion about purchasing this from you.
I finally found a cheap (relative term given its condition (but not beyond saving)) 16" planner in the UK and while I have it stripped down to every last nut and bolt,
I?am minded to add changing out the 2 knife cutter head to the long list of things that I am going to do to it.
Yes, I have considered going down the spiral head route until I worked out the actual cost of the Shelix or Sheartak head with the shipping, Value added tax and Import
duty!!!
Unfortunately, that will have to remain a wish list upgrade.

Re: Colour Reference for Solid Green Paint 6/7 Series
Paul,
I have to agree on the RAL paint matches. I too ordered some paint for my Format4 and the description on the invoice led me to many a google search. I ended up with RAL 5002 Ultra Marine Blue and RAL 9006 White Aluminum.? I order them in a can and had to select the gloss level - I guessed gloss and I intend to paint some scratches next week.? My test sprays look promising. I ordered them from Crosslink Paints for $11.95 per can. If you get a RAL set of colors, you could probably figure out the match. PK PKwoodworking |

Brett,?
I'd say the solution to your pneumatic sander dust collection problem is a different sander/abrasive combo. I'm running a Mirka Deros with Abralon or 3M Cubitron and sanding dust is almost non-existent. Jason Holtz J. Holtz Furniture 3307 Snelling Ave. South Minneapolis, MN 55406 612.432.2765 -- Jason J. 开云体育Chop saw, your felder table saw, a hacksaw, jigsaw, just about anything will work. You can start with smaller if that’s what you think will work. It’s just harder to add material than it is to take away….

Re: Oneida Supercell
I don't have experience with the super cell but I have a used Oneida V-System 2000 2HP cyclone with a 7" port that I'm selling because I upgraded to a larger whole shop system.? I was happy using this collector for my bandsaw and Felder CF 731S combination machine.? This was the second oneida cyclone I've owned and was very happy with it. I wouldn't hesitate to buy their products again.? Private message me if you have any interest in my unit.? Jarrett On Mon, Dec 27, 2021, 6:26 PM Brett Wissel <Brettwissel@...> wrote:

Re: Moving new K700S
I appreciate the comments. Steve, the bill of lading is quite informative.
I may try to get the material home and into my garage before I figure out how to get it from there to my shop. I will definitely look into a rigger. Expertise is worth a lot! -- John Hinman Boise ID Not a Felder Owner yet - expecting K700S in February and A941 in April 2022 |

Hi Brian,?
unfortunately, my enquiries with Felder remain un-answered after some weeks so hence the post.
Amazon will deliver a RAL colour chart tomorrow so I shall see what we can come up with as a match,?
Thanks for your help.
Best regards
Paul

Maybe an email to Felder directly would yield an answer? I know they supplied me with some touch up paint when I bought my machines in 2001, the bottom of my wheelchair scratches the paint off on the bottom of the
machine about 4” off the floor. I don’t think I still have it, and I doubt it had any numbers on it.

开云体育First post here for me. I have the super cell and am quite happy with it.?I have a small hobby shop with multiple machines including Hammer A3-32 JP. Supercell works well with one machine at a time and that’s all. My system is 4” duct all the way. ?Hope this is helpful. Ed.? On Dec 27, 2021, at 3:36 PM, alain pilon <alain.pilon@...> wrote:

开云体育I do not own a supercell, but from the feedback I am getting on my woodworking Facebook group, it is an incredible tool if you only use it for one machine at the time. Apparently, it sucks so much that you don’t have to think about pipe size: the static pressure and CFM are high enough to suck everything.?Note: all these comments were from hobbyist.? Re: Digital Rip Fence mod on K500
开云体育I would get 1/8“ thick, and probably start with a piece of 1”x1” from Home Depot or Lowes, they sell it there. You can always cut it down on the length of the legs on the bandsaw if it’s too big. You will have to experiment a bit to see what works, I suspect they won’t all the the same as the distance of how far out that Felder mounts the bar is probably somewhat variable.

Oneida Supercell
Does anyone have experience to share with Oneida Supercell? I'm looking at an install setup with a small tool array for a new project in general. Secondly, I'm trying to solve a pneumatic?sander dust collection problem in general for a project that doesn't have .... anything for dust collection other than open windows, area fans, and a broom at the end of the day. I'm not convinced a downdraft table alone will cut it besides being inflexible, I'm hoping maybe using the same Oneida Supercell with an area port nearby? the work or below might grab enough?airflow to keep the breathing zone clean among sporadic activities. Thanks Brian,
I am going to have to get someone slightly less colour blind than me to take a look at that one but good to know its probably a RAL colour .

Pretty sure it’s RAL 6011, same color as early Deckel machines. Here is a color chart, but different monitors will looks different.

Colour Reference for Solid Green Paint 6/7 Series
开云体育
Can anyone provide the correct colour reference for the solid green paint used for the 6 and 7 series machines?
I have a Bandsaw and a combination machine that I am refurbishing that both need some repainting to get them into best condition ready to sell.
Thanks for any information you can provide

Digital Rip Fence mod on K500
Hi,
I got a Fiama DRO to mod my K500 rip fence. To attach the FIAMA F7, I plan to add a 90 degree aluminum bracket on the inside of the rip fence housing protruding toward the rip fence scale on the saw. I plan to cut a small offset on this bracket in oder to fit it inside the rip fence housing. See picture below with the bracket in white. However, I wonder which thickness I should go with. I believe 1/2 inch is what I am looking for the width based on how close the housing is from the saw scale, but the thickness I have no idea. I am looking at those aluminum brackets: Any feedback would be nice, Thanks, Bill |
