Re: KF700sp and AD741 used pricing
Id be interested in the stupid distometer too! Frankly, i could do with a fair amount of the tooling and blades in that cabinet. I still dont have a dado for my KF700, or adjustable groovers for the shaper. Where are you located, Mike? I just searched the country and didnt?see a post for felder equipment matching these machines.? Patrick On Tue, Jan 5, 2021 at 10:59 AM James Zhu <james.zhu2@...> wrote:

Re: KF700sp and AD741 used pricing
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýMike, Looks like Aigner fence plates. Not sure if it is important to you but does it have dado option? I have seen KF700 go for $10K w/o much in accessories. If there have not been significant changes the age is not as important if used in hobby shop. Other than the overhead saw guard, I think, there is not too much missing from std current offering.?Not sure if that is important and whether overhead saw guard can be added.?Off course, you can add lots of electronics but they do not come cheap. You can always add DRO on rip (DIY) and Brian¡¯s DROs on the xcut. I think $20K is a reasonable price for everything instead of the $22K asking. You can expect to spend $1-2K in crating and shipping if you do not find machines locally or close by. I believe seller can expect at least 50% on machines and up to 70% on accessories. The buyer can figure out what a new machine would cost and determine the value to self. In the end these machines go for prices that the buyer and seller can agree upon. Given that it is a large sum, you may have some room to negotiate, especially if you do not care about many of the accessories. BTW, that distometer will likely start a bidding war on FOG. If survival guide on Ebay is a sign then it should fetch at least $2K, as it is out of production. Imran? On Jan 5, 2021, at 10:41 AM, Mike Barrow via groups.io <lunatuna23@...> wrote:

Dave, I see.? Yes, the Shaper cutters are expensive if you buy brand new.? 20k for 14 years old KF and AD is not a great deal, but 2k for the toolings is a good deal. James On Tue, Jan 5, 2021 at 11:04 AM David Davies <myfinishingtouch@...> wrote:

The KF is the better deal depending on what are accessories and what is tooling but since most stuff goes with that machine, 12K for all of it is pretty decent.? 14K might be a stretch but still way better than the J-P pricing.? Some of that tooling could be
resold to recoup some money.? Dave

Keep in mind it isn't $20K for just the KF.? It's $22K for the KF, the AD, and a bunch of extra stuff.? The extra "stuff" adds up quickly.? I'd be surprised if the cost of all of the extras is less than $5K

Re: AD741 feed problems
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI have found any pitchy/resinous wood tends to catch and grab¡ I can run any hardwood, walnut, cherry, maple, etc. and rarely have an issue. Try sending a couple 2x4¡¯s thru and it¡¯ll start screeching and grabbing almost immediately. How heavy are your passes, less depth of cut tends to feed smoother in my experience, but then in softwoods you run the risk of seeing indentations from the serrated roller. You might try making a bed cover out of melamine, put a cleat sticking down on both ends so it¡¯s captive on the bed and then run your material on top of that. The melamine is pretty slippery.

Re: Ten woodworking tools you have to see
I actually talked to the previous owner of the Multi-router company, Lorraine Machine.? He acquired?the product to settle a debt that JDS owed him and he immediately raised the price to cover the debt.? He told me that when Woodpecker bought it they dropped the price and plan on making money through volume sales.? So good for us. Dave On Tue, Jan 5, 2021 at 9:25 AM James Zhu <james.zhu2@...> wrote:

Re: Ten woodworking tools you have to see
Interesting. Woodpeckers start selling Multi-router, looks like Woodpeckers quietly bought the company that makes Multi router, cause Google search does not show that company (they bought JDS Multi router) anymore. I think Multi router price has to come down, improve the dust collection, and more low cost templates, it cannot compete against Panto router, otherwise, it will become a loser like Leigh FMT at the end. Re: AD741 feed problems
I do not see assembly drawing for AD741 in files, just the manual. Dual51 can be ordered with rubber infeed and outfeed rollers and it is a wear item. Do you have steel rollers? Mine is serrated steel on infeed and textured steel on outfeed.
