Re: Bump Stop Rip Fence and Saw Kerf line-up - What's your preferred practice? #sawmethods

Jonathan,?

?????????? Thanks for the tips. I'm new to the full sized sliding table so all these tips are helpful. I'm trying to do all my cutting to the left of the blade, it seems to have the potential to be the most accurate and safe method.

Re: Bandsaw tires FB510

? ? ?The tire problem is back. I installed the new tires from Felder. They were much tighter than the originals. Very little use since then. Beginning of December the tires came off. Top and bottom. sent e-mail to Felder support. Received a prompt response. They are sending new tires again and said the recommend? all tires to be glued on.?
? ? ? They recommend a 3m contact adhesive. What is the best way to get the tires on using contact adhesive? I do not want to fight the tires bonding. Any good suggestions.

Re: door building advice

Would love a copy of the cnc files for the torsion table too. Mine is not big enough to do in one pass, but I think I can index and move the panels to do it in two.

Drew, can you upload to this group, or alternatively email? gen at mcclement dot co dot uk (converted into computerspeak!)

Re: door building advice

You should be able to post the CAD file in the folders section of the forum.

Re: Would you buy a combo Shaper/Saw?

Shinta,

4hp.

It was a long process.? I have a 20x20 shop.? This already is just a huge luxury purchase for me.? The addition of a $3500 Phase perfect 3 phase converter was put against do I need more power (I was told by many people that rotational phase converter and power drive do not mix well).? I do not feel like I will need more power in the TS, I have a 5hp Laguna TSS and never even have taxed it.? I agree that more power is a benefit for the shaper.? I have worked with 5hp and 3hp shapers in the past.? I will just have to run slower for some of the larger cuts.

I am also sensitive to the sound the PP creates, and wasn't really excited about mounting it outside.

My Oneida is single phase (3hp), my AD941 that is coming soon is single phase (4hp), my 37" double drum sander is single phase (7.5hp)...

Long story short, I spent lots of hours with pros and cons...? decided to stick with single phase.

PK??

It's hard to quit.?

I have access to a small shop where I moved and use it to make things that my wife needs for her studio but mainly I am done with woodworking.
