I assume $15,000 is a decent price on a 940S? Its unusual, but it seems i see more 'almost brand new' Felders being sold like this than any other brand. Shops/Guys buy the whole kit and kaboodle in Felder gear and then they figure out WWing isnt for them or the shop goes under and they have to sell brand new machines. A shop in Michigan just did that a few months ago. 900 series saw, shaper, planer, and jointer that were only a year or two old.?

Hi Steve,

i really appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback. yes i was interested in this model for metal work. the auction also has a model with higher speed range more appropriate for wood. an urgent family matter came up last night so i am unable to pursue this. actually auction might be close to over by now. seems like good price but there is no word on condition. had i foond it earlier i could have seen them in person. i did. find out that all 20¡± doall bandsaws are 460V.

Hi
A new week and a fresh look at the machine (before calling the local agent).?
I found holding in the keys (as in "manual" mode) moved the table.
Cheers

Re: Felder 40mm cutter profile head

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Chris,

ASAIK, you can use 40mm or 50mm blades/limiters in the larger felder universal safety cutter head. the smaller felder universal safety cutterhead only uses 40mm blades.

i assume that only a small portion of the blade can be unsupported. hope this is helpful.

Chris, as long as holes match up there would be 7.5 overhang ,, no issue at all but I would ask whitall what they think there ?is a rule of thumb, based on knife thickness just don¡¯t remember what it is, Rengate or Schmidt would be better qualified , I am going by my experience only with 60 degree corrugated.
Although I do have a few of those heads.
Ther is also rule of thumb for knife thickness to knife extension past cutter body.

Re: [felder-woodworking] Install gas spring assistance for the tilt-away bracket for KF700

I tried rotating it and I still can't push it all the way down.? The spring is stronger than me (and the feeder) - which either means its a strong spring or a weak me.? I'm going to buy a less powerful spring and see how that works.??

Albert:

Thanks for the shop pics. You really pack it in. I was reminded of how the bandsaw can be positioned quite effectively in the dead zone off to the right and behind the sliding table saw (when standing at the slider). I have the impression, however, that your combo thicknesser/jointer would be in the way of your sliding table saw work, especially if you had something big on the saw ¡ª like a sheet of ply, or a large table, desk, door, etc. Do you move it when necessary, or is there actually more room than I imagine...?

Thanks again for sharing.

Warm regards,
Lucky

Re: Aigner Clamp Strip, wiggle in the handle?

Thank you Chris!?

This was very helpful. Yeah, when I engage my clamp the handle definitely moves laterally away from the object being clamped, perhaps 3-5mm, I'll measure when I get out to the Shop tomorrow.?

Subject: [FOG] Aigner Clamp Strip, wiggle in the handle?

?

I recently received a new Aigner Clamp Strip from Felder and noticed that the lever/handle used to actuate the clamping element has some lateral movement when activating the clamp, and was wondering if this was normal??

I have a Aigner Contermax (lovely jig!!) and was surprised that the Clamp Strip handle seems to have some play in it, since the Contermax is very tight and precise. Any input or experiences would be appreciated.?

Griggio 3800mm slider (almost 150 inch)

SCM TI145 with side sliding table. (will arrive in Jan/Feb)

Sicar 600mm bandsaw
Masterwood OMB1V swing chisel mortiser.?
Oscillating Belt sander.?
Chicago Pneumatics 10 HP compressor.
Needless to say I have no bench space in my workshop. the bench is outside the workshop
I have to store my timber in a container and a separate building for a spray booth

You have double the amount of floor space. you can easily fit separate machine with storage and maybe even a spray booth.?

If you have the clearance on the jointer side to position the feeder as shown below, I think you¡¯ll find this makes raising and lowering it a lot easier.

If I get an underpowered spring, the only issue is it won't assist as much with the lift, right? I'm thinking better to error on getting a less powerful spring when I order the new one. Maybe 100lb of extension force, which it says takes 132lbs of compressive force vs 330lbs for the 250lb spring.?
