I agree with Lucky, the bat ears are visible but I don¡¯t design furniture with exposed dados. Also they serve to make exceptionally clean cuts.

To follow up on my issue: I had loosened the hinge securing bolt on the infeed hinge so much that the infeed table had fallen away and skewed pretty significantly away from the operator side.
