Kappa 590
#whatmachinetobuy
Has anybody made the leap to buy a Kappa 590??
There has been some threads where they're mentioned as a "want".?? If anybody has purchased one, how long have you had it and what do you think now? Cheers David |
Re: New F900z = frustration
Thank you - Indeed, that is the piece I need. Kit comes with a series of stamped steel plates instead, so I guess I need to find out if there's a different kit for this style fence which includes the aluminum extrusion your images show. I'll get a message in to the shop to see if this can be worked out.? Next question - anyone know what this is for? was rolling around on the pallet, underneath the machine. Must note- packaging was fully intact, so this is loose stuff from factory.? ?thank you, jeff ? On Sat, May 15, 2021 at 4:05 PM imranindiana via <imranindiana=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: New F900z = frustration
开云体育Jeff, Are you missing this bolt-on piece to mount the safety bars (top view pic - bolt on part circled)? It has been so long that I no longer remember if I got this (bolt on piece) with machine or when I ordered the safety bars. Front view: Rear view: Imran? Re: Japanese Pull Saw Recommendation
I have several Japanese pullsaws?which have the advantage of replaceable blades.? For smaller work, I suggest Zona saws. They seem to be part of the College of the Redwoods/Krenov School curriculum for fine cuts or dovetail type work.??The blades are very thin so cutting to a fine line is easy and the saws are throwaway-cheap, about $10 each from Amazon.? A variety of TPI's?is available as is a flush-cut model.? I use a slightly tired one to cut brass or aluminum.? The full lineup is at?. ? ? ?Jim ? ?? James H. Fleming 925-683-1002 |
Re: Power feeder S-308
开云体育Hi Eduard, The link above shows the seal for the oil chamber for Vario4. My manual shows many other PFs but not your model. So look for a similar seal. Many posters have recently posted a leak from this seal due to how the PF was stored for a relatively long time. What happens is that the seal drys out and then when PF is in correct orientation it fails to seal. My manual calls out (see pic in the linked post) some german oil but also says SAE30 can be used. Hopefully this helps you going. Imran? On May 14, 2021, at 7:24 PM, Eduard Nemirovsky <eduard.nemirovsky@...> wrote:

Re: Japanese Pull Saw Recommendation
开云体育You can use a non flush cut saw but they will gouge the wood surface due to their offset teeth. The flush cut saw has no offset and does not damage the surface much if at all.?Taylor Donsker www.tdonsker.com 818.424.9046 On May 14, 2021, at 6:17 AM, imranindiana via groups.io <imranindiana@...> wrote:

Re: Japanese Pull Saw Recommendation
开云体育Thanks again for all the feedback. I was not looking for a flush cut saw but if the rip/xcut also worked as one that would have been a bonus. Anyhow, now I have details on the flush cut as well ? Imran On May 13, 2021, at 11:49 PM, Cliff Rohrabacher, Esq. <rohrabacher@...> wrote:

Re: Will Felder ever make a spindle moulder like this?
开云体育Congrats Albert. What a beautiful machine. When you ordered, I was able to find a video (or maybe you had shared one) that showed how the sliding table on the side worked. That was fun to watch. Anyhow, I found a brochure and spotted the power feeder stand. I have not seen one like this with counters before. Imran On May 13, 2021, at 8:40 PM, Albert Lee <timbershelf@...> wrote:
? [Edited Message Follows] My new spindle moulder was delivered around early May, I ordered it in July 2020, arrived at our shore around Feb 2021.No its not a Felder its a SCM, I like SCM and Felder but preferred SCM, I may have bought Felder but unfortunately Felder does not offer a spindle moulder with sliding table on its side.? I wondered will Felder ever offer something similar? I know even a smaller Czech company Houfek offers spindle moulder in this configuration.? The user manual says I need 7.6m x 6.6m work space for it, with the machine in the middle of it - my workshop is only 9m x 6m. it currently lives in an area of 2.1m x 5m <1.jpg> <2.jpg> <3.jpg> <4.jpg> <5.jpg> <6.jpg> <8.jpg> <9.jpg> <10.jpg> |

Hi Imran, |
Re: Will Felder ever make a spindle moulder like this?
While I personally agree with the sliding table configuration you specify Albert, I would guess Felder's retort would be the ability to add outriggers? and crosscut fences to their sliding table system. I thought the new Profil92 had more options and features in that area, though I could be mistaken.? One thing I was surprised at the sliding end table? layout is how much more workspace is necessary to navigate that feature, especially with long boards, for end-cuts. But I do prefer the sliding end table. On Thu, May 13, 2021, 8:22 PM <michael.kit.ooi@...> wrote: Wow, Albert! you're going to set a world record for the amount of machinery per m2 for sure! Re: Japanese Pull Saw Recommendation
开云体育Here is my flush cut saw:?I previously ordered a different, ultra thin flush cut saw and bent it on the first damn use. I am pretty familiar with them and hate the producer for making such a ridiculously thin body that literally became worthless after 6 pulls. Thin cuts fast but also allows movement with no backing... Re: Japanese Pull Saw Recommendation
Hi Imran,
I second Taylor's recommendation of the Gyokucho's? Here's a video by David Barron in which he does a run down of various models and their features and applications. I even hit a hidden nail with mine doing some restoration work and it's still quite sharp. I think I got the 372. I ordered mine off eBay and purchased a spare blade at the same time.? Cheers Michael |

That looks like an incredible machine. I do like the sound of that sliding table configuration.? Cheers Michael? |
