David, I used Unibond 800 for most of my veneering work. There are various colors of powder to mix with the glue. For example darker colors for darker wood, etc.

Here is are acouple of photos of a kitchen I did quite a few years ago in lacewood veneer and lightweight MDF.? A vacumm press is pretty much mandatory when laminating large surfaces. Also is the norm to match the thickness and hardness of the veneer on the reverse side to keep the panels from warping. The rule is to always have an odd number of veneers to make up any lamination. For example, core is MDF, top veneer and back veneer equals 3 pieces.
