Not appliance-related but it is kitchen-related: we put no doors in the lowers. All base units have drawers, so no bending or squatting to get something out of the back of a low cabinet.

That does require using better hardware, as you¡¯ll wind up loading some of those drawers pretty heavily. My builder used undermount hardware by Gras, and they are really disappointing.
