I think I figured it out, but confirmation would make me feel a bit better. I'm sure I'm overthinking this, but I just want it to be correct. I was able to get the fence aligned this morning so I think it's good.

I'm putting back together a used K3 I recently purchased. I didn't document the disassembly as well as I should have. The bolts that are used to attach the metal square bar on the fence to the bolt assembly on the machine is what I'm most interested in. The special washers both go on the inside of the machine between the bolt head and machine cast iron. On the other side of the cast iron is a washer followed by a nut that tightens the bolt assembly to the cast iron. Then there's a washer after the nut and before the metal square bar on the fence perhaps acting as a spacer? There's no washer on the outside of the square bar where another nut attaches the metal square bar on the fence to the bolt assembly described above. Not sure why there's no washer here.
