I'm looking to buy a festool ctm36 vac with the plan to use it with a kapex saw and orbital mainly. The vac come standard with a 3.5m 27mm hose, but you can also get a 3.5m 36mm hose. I've read that the 36mm hose is the way to go with the saw, however with an orbital sander, that size hose would be too big and annoying - 27mm would be better.
I'm wondering, just because it suits the layout of my shed, could I connect the 36mm hose to a 27mm hose (7m long) with the 36mm end at vac and 27 at the orbital sander? I know keeping the hose as short as possible is ideal, but in my layout, it would prevent moving that vac down steps and in to another room just to sand.
Will I loose a lot of suction this way at the mouth of the 27mm end as it attached to the orbital? Thought stepping down the size this way might make it semi ok?
