The way my shop is currently laid out, I¡¯m only able to get about 10¡± of cut capacity on the parallel fence before the planer gets in the way. That¡¯s the downside of using the parallel fence attachment in a smaller shop as things often get in the way.?

To people who are familiar with Felder parallel fence, could?I attach the bracket of the rod with scale (from the parallel fence) to the end plate of this extension table that I have for use as a parallel fence? not sure if it is secured properly as it is attached with a single bolt at bottom.
The end of the this extension is almost 33¡± from blade so I understand that I will not be able to use the full range.
BTW, what are the cases where one would need the 50¡± range. I cannot imagine parallel ripping more than 12¡± wide regularly. So if you have a 36¡±+ wide piece and would like to rip into three 12¡± wide boards, would you not prefer to set the parallel fence once to 12¡±, clamp the piece and rip a 12¡± board and repeat.
