Just check a router bit shank, or a dowel pin into the chuck and use an indicator and mag base to measure the run out.

My Nova has a 1.75 HP motor. I have never noticed a lack of power, but I use the machine only for drilling holes in wood or aluminum. The biggest holes I make are about 3.5¡± diameter Forster bit holes in turning blocks.
I just reset the vibration sensitivity to Low. If that does not help I will look at a better chuck.
I probably ought to measure run-out too. I am not sure how to do that - should I measure at the body of the chuck, or on a precision-ground rod? If on a rod, it seems like the location along the rod will affect the run-out. (I am getting off topic, and I apologize).<9723AD85-ACAF-4332-88B9-C0C0E406655E.jpeg>
