So tech support called, he was a very nice person but didn't know how to adjust the table, nor what part #17 is for.? He's going to investigate and call me back.? He did have an interesting idea -- he said that maybe the "missing" jack screw exists, but it is accessed from the back side of the machine.? If you look above at my pic of the back side of the infeed table hinge, you'll see a small screw in the lower right of the picture.? He said to remove that screw, and probably others holding that cover plate in place, and see if the missing jack screw isn't back there somewhere.?
So I'm off to hunt for jack screws
