Thanks Eric, that is very gracious of you. Would live to meet you. Wife does all planning, I may contact you for suggestions.

BTW, travel to Australia is crazy expensive due to covid restrictions. One report said airfares from Europe can be as high as $25K.

I shipped one Big Squeeze to Australia, top of my head I can¡¯t recall if that was you or someone else.

Cheers,

Imran

???PK,

For many of the same reasons I started taking 3 months off every year ~5 yrs ago to go to Pakistan to be with my parents. In USA, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is an amazing law. One can take 16 weeks off w/o pay in 1/2 day increments or all in one shot. FMLA, applies to companies with 50 or more employees.

Now both of them are gone and I am glad that I was with them more than just once a year. Second step was to retire early and enjoy life while I can. Did that end of 2019 at 59.5 yahooo.

Final step is to convince my wife to retire. She is only 53 but would likely retire in no more than 2 yrs. Since she works from home it is not too bad other than taking long vacations. She has however gotten approval for 4 weeks off next year. If Covid is behind us we plan to take a month long trip to downunder. Life is short don¡¯t wait too long to enjoy it.

?I made a decision a few years ago.? Life has been good.? I will not wait to reward myself.? ?I will not play the retirement game.? If we can afford it, I will do it NOW while I can afford it.? We won't be in debt.. And while I can enjoy it.? I won't be stupid, but I won't save for when we are 85...? we won't enjoy those vacations.? ?We plan on buying a super C motor home and seeing the US.? We have triplet boys.? They are 16.? Two of them will be amazing citizens.? ?My third son is Autistic and is awesome too.? Most likely will live with us till we die.
We may move someday.? If we do, my shop will be AMAZING,? because of the so cal real estate money.

Until then, we enjoy life.

I am in Kauai right now with my wife, my 3 kids and my parents at an amazing resort.? The 10 days here makes me better at everything.

So, I can't wait for all of your insight.? This forum is AWESOME.? I WILL set up so.ething for AWFS in 2 years to see as many of you as possible.?

Live your dreams. Involve your kids.

Life is way too short
