What did you use for the red oxide layer on the undercarriage? ?That is, if you used some form of paint for actual protection.? --

Re: '69 Fairlane sheet metal, again
The actual Kioti part number is T4682-43313, and two different dealers have said it's no longer available, even in Korea. Apparently, there are 3 different versions, because Kioti was having warranty issues with it. The second version had an arm coming off
the cover on top, instead of a flat plate, and the third version, I guess, looks completely different. I found a place called All States Ag Parts that says they have a reproduction, but they don't show a picture, you have to call them to talk about it, and
it's a holiday weekend. It's my first task for tomorrow.

Thanks, Linc! It's a 2006 Kioti DK45S, and the part is the bevel gear case, part 16 on the attached manual page.

Steve,
Thank you for the update and pics. I too was thinking the same as you were and expecting a "drop-in" replacement, not a "some assembly required" sub structures/pieces puzzle prior to "dropping-in". And yes I know most replacement panels aren't 100% "drop-in"
and are likely going to need fitment which can include cutting/grinding as needed before welding in place.
Was that $600 total for both sides or was it $600 each side? IF $600 total, that isn't to bad, not great but not all that bad either. I wasn't really too sure what to expect on price, and now to find out "some pre-assembly assembly required" is still needed,
I don't know, maybe a touch/bit high. But as you said, you need these to return structural integrity back to the chassis.
Please keep sending us pics of the "some assembly required" in process and then as you progress to and including the final installation stages.

I currently to my knowledge don't need any. BUT would be interested in "in progress" and "final pics", price as well as what years these theoretically would/should/could fit (I am guessing at least '68 & '69 for fit/use) as well as other possible body
styles/types other than the convertible these MIGHT be able to be fitted to with maybe some mods/tweeks. It is one of those things that IF price is right and have the spare funds it wouldn't hurt to have spares on hand for one of those just incase times.

My son and I have the same tractor. Ours is a 2007. We have several dealers in our area, I could check with them if you have the part no. We love the tractor. Our only major repair has been replacing the plastic fuel tank. .Jay?

Re: '69 Fairlane sheet metal, again
David,
? It was $600 for both sides, $300 per side. I'll send pics as I get further, but it got temporarily moved to the back burner. I broke the front end on my tractor, and even though it's only 17 years old, the dealer doesn't stock parts anymore, so I'm trying
to find used somewhere.

Steve,
Thank you for the update and pics.
Please keep sending us pics of the "some assembly required" in process and then as you progress to and including the final installation stages.

done a test fit yet because I still need to do some cleanup and repair, but they seem to measure out ok.

Re: Mustang brake upgrade
Yeah, I know. I've never had issues with them either. Just know some don't like them. I just had to do something to fix the problem. They were cheaper and easier to use than going with longer studs.?

Will, Nothing wrong with spacers when done right. I had to use spacers on my '68 Torino because the new NON-concourse control arm ball joint domes burried themselves into the tire sidewall preventing wheel spin. Wheel spacers and longer wheel studs fixed that problem. I have been running the spacers for years with no problems.
Jay, A word of WARNING. IF your friend chooses to install a factory booster setup, they MUST also make sure they get the matching booster bracket and linkage. A Midland Booster MUST have the MATCHING Midland specific mounting brackets and linkage. A Bendix Booster MUST have the MATCHING Bendix specific mounting brackets and linkage. The bolt pattern spacing is different between the Midland and Bendix boosters by about an inch. The advantage of getting the Bendix booster is (at least the last time I checked) it is available over the counter at local auto parts stores (they may need to order it in) without a core (though a core charge might be required). Where as the Midland booster MUST be sent out to be rebuilt and a core IS required.
This said, I DON'T know IF the Booster Brackets and linkage are interchangeable between Fairlanes/Torinos and Mustangs/Cougars OR full size cars for that matter.
